GE Regrigerator "Profile" PSS26SHPA SS

I have a GE side by side refrigerator for over 2 years now. Recently I noticed that water is leaking from the freezer side and ice in building up in the freezer.

Could you advise me as to how to resolve this problem.

I checked the defrost drainage tube and found it to be clear.

    So the problem still exist.

I would also like to add that the freezer seems to be cooling at a lower rate now. i.e it takes a longer time to cool and freeze things.

It sounds like the drainage for the defrost water is plugged or obstructed somehow. The ice build up is left over water that is freezing due to the fact that it has not been channeled out properly and when the cycle comes back on it freezes.
look for the collection pan underneath the fridge, access the tube ending to there, blow some air through it. Compressed works best if you have access to some. Also I would advise doing this after the unit has been off for a short while, sometimes the plug will be frozen, so give it time to melt just in case. When you blow on the tube there should be no back pressure, this will tell you if the plug has been removed.

Well, I am assuming the drainage pipe it all good as you have checked it for clogs and leaks. I would like to know if you can tell if there is water actually reaching the drain pan underneath the fridge. If so, you are in good shape. In regards to the slow cooling, what condition are your door gaskets? A bad gasket can cause moisture to build up inside the box, thus giving you excess water inside (condensation). Also make sure the fan is running at high speed, if not this will cause excess ice build up on the evaporator coil. I don't think this is the problem, but without looking at it ,I cant tell for sure.

Behind the bottom shelve is a fixture with the bottom light bulb and the bottom went. On each side of this fixture are rubber drains which connect to the drain on a 90 degree angle. This drain is under the a.m. fixture. The drains are cut in 45 degree angle in order to fit each other. The problem is where the the connecting ends i.e. the vertical drain and the horisontal drains meet are not glued together. i notiched however the clever people at GE know about this problem and solve it with a "TAPE". You either have to buy a rubber glue or tape it yourself.

Hope this will help.

My 1 year old ge profile refrigerator has a serious leak problem from the refrigerator water filer. What should I do?

Check where the leak came from in the water filler, probably a pin hole will cause that. If you already located the leak then apply a small amount solvent or epoxy into it. You can buy solvent or epoxy from
hardware store. Look for a brand that is not harmful to human and especially use for water leaks.
You can do it so good luck.

GE Profile PSS26PSTA SS freezer problem

Forget the warranty - it is only for the compressor and that is usually five years. Did you check for freezer temp - wet cubes indicates too warm up there. Water dispenser lines may be clogged.

If low temps you may have low refrigerant or a defrost mechanism not working - if not working there should be ice buildup on line entering the evaporator in back of compartment.

This sounds like the float mechanism has gone bad. Remove it and have a look. It may be the float or the switch on it that is bad. There is also a solenoid valve. Parts kits are available. Shut off the water first!
