USB2.0 to work

Hi, I've installed the lasted inf file for the chipset, but still no USB2.0. The Device manager just says "Intel(R) 82801BA/BAM USB Universal Host Controller - 2442 (& 2444)". Could someone please tell what I need to do to get USB2.0 as this board is suppose to be able to do it. Thanks Heaps

Re: USB2.0 to work

In the CMOS setup, on the Advanced tab, USB Configuration, enable "High-speed USB", according to this page. The instructions there may not be the same as yours, as Gigabyte may be using a different BIOS. On this page is the latest Intel INF Update Utility for your Intel 845 chipset.

It is also possible that your motherboard does not support USB 2.0. The manual I saw was suspiciously quiet about it.

I had pc intel motherboard 82801 but audio card can not detected

Intel 82801 refers to the Southbridge chip, of the motherboard chipset;
for an Intel 800 series motherboard chipset, for the Intel Pentium 4 series processors,

Notice in the chart under the heading - South bridge;
ICH2, and ICH4 and ICH5 and ICH5R

Does NOT state anything exact about the motherboard.
For this you need the Model Number.

Granted the Southbridge chip, of the motherboard chipset; is what handles the Slower capabilities of a computer.

Audio is one,

[Note CPU = Central Processing Unit. Another term used is Microprocessor, or simply Processor for short.
Does NOT mean personal Computer.

This technology applies to YOUR motherboard, and not to motherboards that support the Intel Core i3, Core i5, Core i7, and Core i9, processors ]

However the Southbridge chip handles Audio through the Audio chipset.

Driver: Small piece of software that allows the Operating System to communicate with a device

The device is the Audio chipset.
You didn't state what Windows O/S you are using.

The reason BIOS doesn't detect the Audio chipset, is because the Driver is gone. Audio driver.

(Windblows lost the address to the driver)

IF, I have the model number of the motherboard;
IF I have the manufacturer name of the computer, and it's model number;
I can look to see if Audio drivers are available, and instruct you how to download, AND install.
I also need the Operating System used.

Windows what?

Usb port can't work

There are basically 2 reasons why USB ports will not work besides being faulty.
1. The drivers are not installed (inf files)
2. The ports on certain motherboards can be disabled in the CMOS or BIOS setup.

To check if the USB drivers are installed you can open control panel>device manager. Scroll down to "Universal serial bus controllers and make certain these are present and installed correctly.

Also make sure your USB device is functioning properly by plugging in to a USB port on a different computer.

Please let me know if you need any further assistance.
Best wishes,

I need SMbuscontrollar driver for the INTEL

Download and run the Intel® Chipset Software Installation Utility. This will install the chipset INF files so that Windows* properly recognizes the chipset's built-in SMBus controller.

Pci memory controller

This is to do with the interface control between the motherboard and your graphics card. For instance, if you have a nVidia graphis card, the latest driver for your particular card will contain the PCI memory controller information for you operating system.
So get the latest driver for your graphics card and see if the yellow exclamation mark disappears..

Hope this helps

Does the following show any deficiency with the mother board?

Hello there.

As the errors say, there are no drivers installed to make the motherboard function correctly. Your Windows Operating System only knows so many drivers. So what i recommend is to download and install the drivers for your motherboard.

For Windows XP professional click here

The drivers you need on that page are as follows, please install them in this order as well or it may not work correctly.

document.write("Chipset: Intel® Chipset Software Installation Utility for Intel® Desktop Boards")* Chipset: Intel® Chipset Software Installation Utility for Intel® Desktop Boards (1342KB)
* Video: Intel® Extreme Graphics Driver (5410KB)
* LAN: Intel LAN [V6.4_PRO2KXP_ONLY.EXE] (8798KB)
* Audio: Realtek AC97 [AUD_ALLOS_5.10.0.6020_PV_REALTEKAC97.EXE] (24333KB)
* USB: USB 2.0 [USB2.0.EXE] (1106KB)

This will install the drivers for your Chipset, Video, Network, Audio and USB.

Afterwards everything should appear as installed in device manager.

Hope this helps.

Driver for vista

Believe it or not...

XP drivers often work in Vista. Much as the Windows 2000 drivers worked in XP.

Go ahead and try the XP driver. Make sure you create a restore point before you do...just in case.

I have used this very driver in Vista for two of my own systems myself, so I know that they work properly. Let's hope they work the same for you.*%20XP%20Professional&lang=eng

You may have to do a manual installation of the hardware rather than using the setup.exe. Use Device Manager. Find the device. Select "Update Driver" and point Windows to the .INF file for the driver.

To be honest... Vista should already have drivers for this video chipset. The only problem is that it might not let you select the maximum color depth or resolution until you install the Intel driver. :P

Good luck. Don't forget a restore point!
