i nsome case so many transistor can chnage with others and some mosfet also with simply bipolar transistor soun fany but that is true,in IBM tft monitor transistor in dc dc convertor for back light tft display u can change ths driver transistor with BF459 that is driver transistor for RGB in module tv,gate is same like base, colector is dc power and bicouse that tr.working on high frekvencie that is same like to work in impulse regim like FET tr. U al can try with this i fix my monitor and he working more then 3 years.Take care all my friend and bye bye

My monitor was just blinking folowing the thunderstom some days back and I tried to replace some 4 capacitors coded C5707,and it comes on but abnormal display and then the replaced transistors burn out...

At this point you may be better off to replace the whole board, the four C5707 are transistors, not capacitor. You need to make sure that there are no cold solder joints around inverter transformers lead, check the tuning caps in the inverter output sections.

Picture goes black at random intervals

There are 4 c5707/5706 in the inverter transformer driving circuits, the cause of the problem was due to poor solder connection in the bias circuits of the transistors. Make sure to check that after you install the new transistors otherwise you will blowthem up. Common problem with this model. When the circuit drwas too much power from the power supply, it will shut itself off to ptotect itself.

look at the 3 amp. fuse on the mainboard! By the way, you can buy very cheap USB light, wich are working with a small lighttube. Use the transistors of their generator!

You need transistors with hfe greater than 300. They are harder to get and you should use the producter`s original transistors 2sa5707.

LED's blinking, no video

Your C5707 transistors in the monitor have failed. Suggest replacing all four with the Sanyo C5707 transistor. A common problem.

Your inverter power supply has gone bad. You will need to replace the whole board or replace the the 2sc5707 transistors in the inverter area. Check out this link for installation videos and how to for that model
They also sell the whole board as well as repair kits

We recently come across this problem - and like many others - looked online for a solution without much luck. So it was a clear case of fault finding. The symptoms of the indicator changing from amber to green on signal indicated a problem with the powersupply/inverter board, and not the smaller signals processing board, so that's where we started. On careful testing it soon became clear that the black picofuse (just above the main transformer) was blown. This indicated a major fault in the backlight driver circuit. There are two independant yet identical circuits that drive the backlights - this made testing easy. We found that the two driver transistors marked C5707 were almost completely shorted. You will identify these as being two of four identical black components with a built in heat sink at each end of a grey 0.22 Microfarad capacitor - looking much like bookends! Replacing these C5707 transistors with BD139 transistors (Note: these are constructed mirror image to the original transistors - fit them backwards to the original transistors !) and replacing the 3 Amp picofuse with a 1 ohm 1 watt resistor completely solved the problem ! - Colin Knight, Radtvid Electronics, South Africa.

BenQ FP731 Screen briefly displays then turns off

hi. i had the same problem and fixed it. the problem are the 4 transistors (C5707) one of more are shorted (Q739,Q740 and Q759, Q760). Also the fuse PF751 (3a) has to be replaced in most cases. In my case i replaced the fuse and 1 transistor (C5707)
