Re: mintek lcd w/dvd player
See if the disk tray comes with a rubber belt. if it does then figure it out how to remove and replace it! if it comes with gears then it probably needs maintenance like greasing some part of it causing toomuch friction!. replace the rubber belt if any! rubber belts often loosen especially with much heat build-up

There's nothing you can do. The DVD unit and the TV are both controlled by IC2 bus lines that work together. You will have to have the unit repaired or invest in another set. My recommendation is " Never buy a TV with a built in DVD player". They do not last. That is from a professional stand point.
I am going to sandbag it. I can use that particular cd to workout with. I will just attach a dvd player separate since most postings can't use the dvd anyway after they get the cd out. Thanks for the help anyway! Susan
Its not the power pack. The problem is with the dvd player which is also where the cable inputs converts through to the tv. if you are lucky enough to find a new internal dvd unit then you are in luck but I have'nt been able to. Your problem is an old isuues at least 2 years old...Sorry no Mintek tech support available.

Actually, it is not a Projection TV Problem. The problem is with a Mintek DTV-265 26" flat screen digital TV (not projection). I have not yet resolved the problem by unplugging the set, pressing the eject button and replugging in the set nor have I had any other suggetions. The manual clearly indicates Mintek DTV-265 26" (not Mintek DTV-263) but I feel they are very similar; however, the manual does not mention losing/restoring the on screen menu.
I purchased my Mintek from Costco and had the same problem. They are aware of the problems with Mintek and lack of support. If your set is from Costco or other stores try them for a solution or refund. It worked for me. I got a full refund. Most retailers have a copy of the reciept if not try anyway.
