Andis Outliner II Trimmers

The trimmers are starting to pull the hair instead of cutting it. And of course I oil them as I should and I even went to the extreme and changed the blades but still the problem exist. I really don't know how old the clipper itself is but its been well maintained. And from what I hear they usually last a while when these are the circumstances. But yet I don't understand why they're pulling the hair. Can you help?

Look if the trimmer is pulling hair, its not lack of oil
its maybe the speed of the trimmer needs to be faster.
its the the plastic flat head skrew on the side.check if the blades separate easiley if theyt do sometimes that makes the trimmer pull hair to.there might be a little plate on the inside of the trimmer and its not holding the blades tight.adjust that not to tight though then the trimmer wont cut

If you've been oiling the blades and have also put a new blade on them it may be an internal adjustment that needs to be corrected. Please send your trimmer to the Andis factory for repairs at 1800 Renaissance Blvd Sturtevant WI 53177. Please include a short note stating the problem as well as your name and address inside the box.

Thank you for purchasing Andis.

Brand new andis trimmer pulling hair and not cutting good

The questions about Andis T-Outliner or Andis Styliner II, about not cutting or pulling hair.
On the Andis T-Outliner trimmer if the sharpness of the blade is worn out, all the tricks and treats won't make this blade to cut hair. Before I do any kind of work to the trimmer, I first test the coil for the right amount power, I can get out of the coil, without this power, it doesn't matter how new or old the trimmer is, the trimmer will not cut hair at all. If the coil is good, I will sharpen the blade and set it according to your needs (lineups or shave setting) after the blade is sharpened and set. The trimmer will need to be, adjusted for alignment to the blade, adjust the power of the coil, and adjust the tension for the blade. All these factors are involved in the Andis T-Outliner to cut hair clean especially lineups or shaving. These adjustments work together for the trimmer to work properly. I know that we all trying to save money, which is part of life, but sometimes frustration will take over and say hell with it, I'll buy another or forget it. Manufactures make mistakes, sometimes the trimmer was not sharpened or adjusted correctly. Any case, what I'm trying to say here, if you try all the tricks & treats and can get your trimmer to work, it may be easier for you to send it to a professional to sharpen & repair the problem and set the blade according to your needs (lineups or shave setting) We specialize on Andis T-Outliner Trimmers. I have an Andis outliner II I purchased a year ago. I recently changed the blade but it won't cut my hair. Do you kow why?

Sometimes the new blades from Andis are not sharpen enough to get that clean cut. also all trimmers need to be readjusted for power and alignment, plus sharpening the blade, it look like you need a complete sharpen & service on your Andis trimmer. check out Manny's Sharpening they have a Mail Order service, the service they provide is fast and they will sharpen make all the adjustment and give your trimmer more power and the blade will cut clean. They will even adjust the blade at your request on how you want that blade to be set at. Line Ups or Fade Cuts and even shave set. Manny's Sharpening been around for over 20 years and they have a very good rating on the net. Check it out Manny's Sharpening

I have some green colored leakage from the handle of my Andis Outliner II trimmers. Is that normal?

if the shaver is working fine i would not worry about it , they use electrical grease and they also use grease on some of the internal working parts . it might be that the shaver got to hot and melted some of the grease . i would just wipe it off .

How to repair my hair trimmers?

I am a retired hairdresser and it sounds like one of three things or a combination. Your blades may be worn (dull) and need replacement , it may need to be oiled, the blades could be "misaligned" and need to be adjusted. You do that by removing the two screws holding the blades on, remove the blades, while you have them off, clean out any built up clippings in there and then put the blades back on. BEFORE you tighten down the screws make sure the "teeth" from the blades are lined up so the bottom blade teeth can be seen BETWEEN each top blade tooth. NOT directly on top of each other. Now tighten the screws. urn the clipper on and add a drop of clipper oil (no substitutes) onto the running blades. That should do the trick.
