Question about Toshiba 32HFX72 32" TV
I have the standard Toshiba remote and a Dish Network remote that controls the TV and Satellite receiver. These have worked fine for couple of years. We recently moved and shortly after the remotes will not control the TV. I have replaced the batteries twice and it will only sometimes work. The Dishnet remote will only control the satellite receiver all the time and sometimes the TV. Both remotes will not 100 % of the time operate the TV at short, long, left or right range of TV. There is no blockage either. I do not want to pack this monstrosity of a TV down two flights of stairs to have it repaired and back again. Is the most likely problem the remote receiver? if so about how much is that part? I would rather disassemble the TV myself and attempt to fix it or get a new LCD TV. I have worked with electronics enough to get into trouble. What is your thoughts on this. Thank you,
Hey, I would definitely recommend trying all the options mentioned above however sometimes it might never work correctly again (the remote control that is) and it might've been a defective remote control to begin with. Anyways, I had a few friends that have been in similar situations, and usually they won't even bother and went on the internet to find a replacement remote control. What they have done and probably what I would do if I was in that situation is head on over to a replacement remote control website like EveryTVRemote.com and look through their directories for that specific model Toshiba 32HFX72, and they should have what you are looking for in stock!

Just repaired a friend's Toshiba 36inch 200 lb heavy with exactly the same problem.
The receiver inside the TV was the problem and getting to the screws holding the module board in are extremely difficult to remove. Watch the crossover connectors that attach between module boards as they are very delicate. Damage them and you maybe S.O.L.
Part cost $18 including shipping from http://www.andrewselectronics.com

CHECK INSIDE THE REMOTE FIRST! YOU MIGHT HAVE ALOOSE CONNECTION WITH THE BATTERY. or the IR trransmitter is loose! clean also the circuit with a soft brush!
