Cannot find wireless network on Secondary computer

Had Geek Squad set up wireless network in my home 2 years ago. Have main computer and secondary. 2 days ago I went to access internet on secondary and could not. Went to see if i was connected with my wireless and could not find anything showing that i still had my network listed on my secondary computer. Don't know what to do. Do i need Geed Squad to com back out and re-do the wireless network? Can anyone help me? Spoofer

The answer depends on how much you know about your setup, and how much time you want to spend on the issue. The easiest solution is to get the Geek Squad to come back out. Since they came out once, they might accept a call and offer a couple of ideas over the phone. To begin to work with the issue here, we probably need more data. What OS, what kind of computer (desktop, laptop), etc.

Try this, unplug the power from your modem, wait 25 seconds and plug it back in. Unplug the power cord from your router and wait 10 seconds.. plug it back in. Wait for the Wan/Ready/Internet light on your modem to stop flashing or go to its default position. Reboot your 2ndary computer. Try the internet again. If this does not help please post again and we will dig deeper! Good Luck!

Printer driver wont install. been to best buy 3 x

first off, What printer do you have? How are you connecting, USB, network (wired or wireless). I have been answering questions on this board for years and it still amazes me how people expect to get an answer without providing any relevant details on their problem. As for geek squad, flip a coin, you might get someone who knows what they ar talking about, you may wind up talking to the home theatre guy, who is not going to admit he knows nothing about printers. I have 15+ years as an HP and Lexmark certified technician and can help you if you give me some details.

I had Best Buy geek squad set up my computer and wirelless connection and now when I try to set up my Kindle they say I need a wireless password which I do not have. I will need to have everything...

The Geek Squad set a password inside your router for the wireless network,
and set an 'SSID' value for the name of your wireless network.

They should have told you what the password and SSID are.

2 routers. Can i have two routers within the same workgroup. My wireless router will not work from one end of the house to the other. I need to have more than one wireless transmitter so my laptop will...

Yes. You can use two routers. Your first router is your most main router. Then you can put your second router where you want to use it. If for example, your house has three floors, your main router should be on the first floor only. Take your second router to the second floor only because that signal will reach the third floor.
How do you configure?
It is better that you just buy internet cable or LAN cable here. You can see the photo at this link

Connect it to the main router usually on the first LAN port and then connect the other end to your second router so that you can have internet.7dcf3dd1-083e-45af-a2e2-bffadbe8209e.jpg Visit Here For Router Products Visit

Need to set up wireless router

you have two ways:-

  1. DHCP (Dynamic Host Control Protocol)
  2. Manual entry of settings in wireless adapter properties.
1.DHCP:-
In DHCP method you dont have to enter any settings on the wireless adapter. The wireless network which you are connecting will automatically assign an IP Address to you. But to use DHCP it must be supported by your wireless network.

2. Manual entry of settings in wireless adapter properties.

This method is mostly used over wireless Connection in small networks connecting 2-200 computers. In this method you have to obtain the following information from your connection provider.
  • IP address (Its format is "xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx")
  • Default gateway address (very important)
  • Primary and secondary DNS (If not given then you can use "8.8.8.8" as primary DNS and "8.8.4.4" as Secondary DNS...thats free DNS service from google and its very fast)
  • Subnet Mask (not needed mostly...automatically generated)

Secure network

The best thing is to take it to Geek Squad to have them configure it. They have a fee but it will be easiest.

If not,

Open Internet Explorer or Firefox, Type in either 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.1.100.

Select where it says wireless, select WAP 2.
Set a password.
Save.
Restart.

Make sure your computer recognizes the settings to. Go to wireless settings on your computer and change them to the same as above. Let me know if you need further information.
