Question about Symbol MC70

Symbol mc70 i work at comcast we were givin the symbols to use with no manual, is there a place on the were i can get manuals for the programs in the symbol mc70?

    THE SYMBOL MC70 SUCKS!

    1. THE SCREEN FREEZES

    2. IT WOULD NOT LET YOU HANG UP ON CALLS SOME TIMES

    3.YOU HAVE TO REBOOT IT TO GET TO DO ANY THING ALL THE TIME

    I CAN GO ON AND ON....

    CURRENTLY THERE ARE 80 PEOPLE HAVEING THESE SAME PROBLEMS

    I DID FOUND THE MANUAL FOR THE SYMBOL BUT IT IS ABOUT 200 PAGES AND I HAVE GOTTEN USER FRIENDLY GUIDES BUT THE SYMBOL STILL HAVE PROBLEMS.

    if you have the symbol mc70 try this:



    you need to check the memory

    1. press the start menu

    2. press the program or settings

    3. press the memory program

    4. see what is running

    5. press stop all

    this should free up memory in the symbol.

    one thing about these symbols it doesn't have alot of memory in it to
    run good. hope this will help you out. just let me know if iot helped
    you.

    Make that 82 or more, I work for Comcast as well and the things freeze up all the time. I do a warm boot and all is well again until I go into an area with little or no service then come back out and try to reconnect. The bad part is I am in Vermont and we have very limited cell coverage in some areas.

If you are in an area outside your carriers main network, the "freezing" could be caused by a poor data hand off from the carrier to their affiliate network in the local area. Where this can be even more complicated if the carriers network has been upgraded (i.e. EvDO or GPRS) and the affliate has not (1x or GSM).

There are also a number of other reasons the device can appear to "freeze", but without the details, it's hard to pinpoint. Regardless, it shouldn't behave like this. If the device can be used with no problems in other areas, it's most likely the way the modem is interacting with the network, and should be reported to the technical support team handling these issues with the carrier (if you try to contact the carrier on your own, prepare to be put in an endless queue with no updates).

Also, MOT is continually updating the software and firmware of these devices. I DO NOT recommend someone try to update the device on their own. The latest releases may not be compatible with everything your company is running on the device. You may end up with a device that can better connect, but you can't access anything you need. I would recommend that you check with your local technical support folks and make sure your on the latest corp "APPROVED" releases.

May I suugest going to Motorola's website and go to doanloads. Look for new OS updates. I believe you are on an old OS and this can be fixed.

Make that 81! There are days when the divice works like a dream. Then most of the time I just want to chuck the damned Symbol out of a moving van! I am tired of having to warm boot it every ten minutes because "the operation failed". The modem constantly locks up, and there is nothing you can do to debug it except warm boot it and wait ten minutes.

The imager or scanner on my MC70 will not scan a bar code.


Do you have any software on the MC70 to use the scanner. You can use Datawedge if your software does not integrate into the device directly.

What you need to do is install a scan utility to enable your scanner. The following postings are old anyone is still having issues?

For MS Exchange Syncing:
Start --> Programs --> ActiveSync

Tap on Menu (bottom right), tap on Options then tap on the DELETE button at the bottom of the screen. Accept the warning messages and the ActiveSync screen will return to the setup screen
