KD-HDR40 will not play any CDs, only displays a "CD reading" message.

Sounds like CD mechanism failure. Did some sticker or anything went inside? Any way, need service.

When the radio is on, the clock will not display. When the radio is off the time is displayed. How do you set the time and get it to display when the radio is on.

To set time:

Press the [D] button for one second or longer to switch to the adjustment selection display. Press the > button to select "Clock". Press the play button. Press > to select between hours and minutes. Use the rotary knob to set the time. Press play to complete. then press [D] to return to the previous menu. To display the time, you should just have to press the [D] button while playing a CD or listening to the radio.

Turn off radio and hold mode button to see if you can set clock that way. I know you have to do that on some older radios like pioneer and sony. If you give me the Xtreme web site you have I will try to help you more.

Good Luck

Kenwoods are awesome. Read the manual, sometimes it gets confused with the Folder trees, if you have to many it goes crazy. It could also be the way the disk is burned, and how the songs are named. I beleive in display options too you can click how things are displayed i.e. folder, artist, song name, title, time. Read your manual.
