Re: iphone 3g is frozen and touch screen wont work
If this unit is jailbroken you may want to do a full restore of the device, you will need to get the Iphone turned on and connect it to itunes, when you get into I tune and you phone is seen, right click on the device in itunes and tell it to restore. This will reset the phone back to defaults, you will loose most of your data if not all. If you can't get it to stay on or come on in Itunes then you may need to try this.

It sounds like you are stuck on boot. Hold down the power/lock button and home button together until the phone turns off and the apple logo appears again. Your phone should boot up normally.
I had the similar problem. Found this suggestion on the web to reset
iPhone 3G to it's original settings. You may have to restore your media
and data files after resetting. It's the only way out for me since I
can't get beyond the "Apple Logo" thingy, and I am too lazy to bring it
down to the Apple Store.
Try this: 1.) Shut down the iPhone 3G. 2.) Start up iTunes 3.) Hold down HOME button on the iPhone 3G 4.) While keeping the HOME button depressed, plug in the Sync cable 5.) A message will pop up to ask if you want to reset. 6.) Just click YES and the reset process should start.
You may want to try resetting the phone by holding the home and power button simultaneously until the phone shuts down and the apple logo appears. If that doesn't help, connect it to your computer and do a restore using iTunes.
If iPhone won't turn on, or the display freezes or doesn't respond
Press and hold the Home button for at least six seconds, until the application you were using quits.
If that doesn't work, turn iPhone off and turn it on again. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button on top of iPhone for a few seconds until a red slider appears, and then slide the slider. Then press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
If that doesn't work, reset iPhone. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears
More resets: Try This: 1. Remove Sim Card 2. Hold in 'Home' button and 'On/Off' button together until Apple logo appears 3. Replace Sim Card 4. Hold in 'Home' button and 'On/Off' button together until normal phone screen appears.

I use my iphone as my alarm. The alarm won't off but when I went to shut it off and touched the OK button it wouldn't do anything. It froze! The screen went black with the "Snooze & Ok" buttton is still showing. I tried turning it off but it won't shut off. The only buttons that's working is the volume and the silent button. I can still receive calls but can't hear them...
I'll recommend you re-break your phone and if you are willing to perform the task in a more simple yet
time-saving manner, follow the step by step guide from this website:
