It sounds to me the unit may be low on refrigerant. The system does not achieveadequat pressures to effect proper cooling which in turn does not actuate cut the out switch in turn shutting down the compressor. OR! The thermostat itself is defective. Both at tis point are probabilities. Certified Tech is required to service or repair. Good Luck

Hello, usually the unit will develop ice on the coil if there is not enough airflow, a dirty coil or dirty filter which prevents proper airflow. You can buy coil cleaner at a heating and cooling store and spray it on the coil, it should do the trick. If that does not work then the unit has a low refrigerant charge due to a leak.

The unit isn't kicking out any water. And its not cooling like it normally does. How can I fix this issue?

Some water is normal on many newer units, but the drain holes often clog with dirt and then they run too full...find the drain holes and clean then out, also make sure the unit is tilted back in the window a bit...

The compressor has an overload. Your description sounds like it is cycling. It may be a faulty overload, but typically that is a symptomof a compressor or refrigerant charge problem. Typically not worthy repairing on a window unit.

Sounds like you are over heating the compressor, try cleaning the out door unit coil. Take a hose and blow water through it, be carefull not to bend the fins.

Dry is a dehumidifier option. There is a heating element in the unit to heat the cold air back up. The cold evaporator coil causes the moisture in the air to condense on the coil (this is why the AC leaks water) and the air coming out of the vents will be cold. If you are not wanting to lower the temperature in the room but want to take out the moisture then use DRY. All ACs take the moisture out of the air when they are on COOL. So, COOL drys the air and makes it cold. DRY drys the air but warms it back up before sending it out the vents.
