SD Card Reader Not Working on Acer Aspire 5600... (by 16 users)
Found my SD Card reader would not auto recognize whn inserting a card. Loked in windows explorer under my computer and the reader was not showing up. Went in to device manager, uninstalled the driver and reinstalled it with no luck. Still will not show up under my computer

microsd sandisk in acer aspire 4520 not working. when trying to open the card drive it instructs to format and when trying to format it says not usable and cannot format. But the same card works well in dell computer. why is this happening?

I accidentally uninstalled the driver and the software got deleted. Where can I find it to download it again?

same problem, SD card is not being recognised on my Aspire 5580.
it had worked before when I was running on Vista, but now I've switched to XP Professional 2002 SP2.
i'll check the drivers again...

I basically browsed to c:\windows\inf (which is a hidden folder so you must unhide it in your folder options) right clicked usb.inf and selected install. Everything started working.

Tengo una ACER Aspire 4520 con el mismo problema. No logro hacer que lea tarjeta, si la lee, pero dice que esta bloqueada que si se quiere formatear y cuando lo hace, da un error y dice que no puede ser formateada.

I'm using Aspire 5610AWLMi. The card reader also doesn't work, and very difficult to find proper driver download source, even at Acer's site. Still can't find any solution. : (

In my acer aspire 5610 laptop card reader does not works from the beginning...
now acer logo does not displays on booting...
now it was infected by 8h3hh3m.exe virus, please sent me solutions to remove that virus...

Inserted 4Gig SDGC card in the Acer Aspire 5610 and .... nothing! First try no steps taken. Will try to look other places on the web for hints or call Mfg... Bill

I have a 5102 WLMi, and when I put the card in it just pops up with the safely remove hardware icon. I also have an SD/HC 4gig card and it does nothing when I put it in. Any suggestions? Thanks

Have an Acer 5110. My daughter put a memory card in the 5-in-1 card reader. How do you remove it?

Acer Aspire 4520, same problem as Scarecrow. Checked out the link to Microsoft's Hotfix that was provided by Country. Looks like a viable solution, but the only problem is my driver version ends in 25088; the Hotfix is for the version ending in 20634. Guess I'll keep checking back here for an update.
