Question about Xtreme Sound WMS303 CD Player

Wireing harness I have a Xtreme Sound WMS303 CD Player and want to hook in another car. Is there a universal harness to hook to any car or a wiring diagram of color codes for which is power, ground, speakers?

Thank you. getting the color codes for the stereo is what I need. I also picked up a CD/DVD player from a Escalade that now I'm also looking for the wiring harness that plugs into the stereo. In both cases I'm hooking my own speakers and then power so I need just the harness that conects to the stereo, not to the radio.

    Thank you

You can buy the proper harness for any vehicle at most stereo shops or even some at WalMart, but you have to hook it to the one that plugs into the radio. The colors on each harness will be identical- just match them up.

If you need a harness to plug into a factory radio then you will either have to cut one out of a vehicle at a junkyard or get an aftermarket one (Metra, Scosche, American International..) from a car stereo shop. With that being said, if it's a cd/dvd as you say, then that means its from a fairly new Escalade, which means that you need A LOT more than a harness....... Those generally are turned on and off by the cars computer (so you can't just hook it up to any random car...) and they often will need the Bose amp that was part of the original vehicle system. I believe you may be in WAYYYYYYYYY over your head on that one. You'd be seriously better off just buying an after-market unit that will work with any vehicle.

I had to jump the battery in my car and now my Xtreme Sound Stereo, Model # WMS303 won't turn on. Is there a code or series of buttons that I need to type in to get it to work?

No code or series of buttons, sounds like you blew a fuse.
Check your vehicle's user manual for fusebox location and check the fuses. There is also a fuse on the back of the deck itself that may have blown.

Trying to hook up cd player no sound through speakers there are two clips but when buying wiring harness only comes with one clip

try splicing your gray wires on the vehicle harness and running those to the speakers a lot of aftermarket harnesses are universal even though they say they are vehicle specific you may want to direct wire the radio to your vehicle harness...

Is WMS303 compatible to hook up mp3?

If your unit has an AUX IN then use that, otherwise you need to utilize the IP Bus system (the place where a CD change would hook up). If that's the case you will need to purchase and adapter from the manufacturer or Crutchfield.com

Xtreme sound wms303 cd player..... need a new one?

It sounds like if it only works a day or two and then you disconnect it and re-connect it, and it works again for a day or two, I don't think the problem is how you are connecting it. I think the radio needs to be reset every couple of days. If it has a reset button, just press that and it will at least keep you from disconnecting it and reconnecting it.

This also sounds like it has an internal electronic problem. When you disconnect the radio, it resets the microprocessor. You should have it checked out by a service center, or if you do not want to spend any money on this radio, just get a new one.

No power

My guess is that when you pushed the player into the dash, you pinched a power wire, resulting in a blown fuse. Check the vehicle's fuse box. Most vehicles have at least two fuses that provide power to the radio, though they may not all be labeled as radio fuses. You may need to check all the fuses in the vehicle, including any fuse box under the hood.

is there a cd already in it? Try hitting the eject button(it couldn't hurt!).If you bought it 'New',take it back to the store where you purchased it fromand relate your tale of woe,If it's a reputable dealer they'll probably give you an exchange(try to get a differant brand the tuners on the 303's kinda suck). If you bought it used,..well now you know why the other guy got himself a new one! Sorry! Hope this helped!

Freezes up and will not cut off or play

The power supply is going bad on you. I would suggest buying a new head unit as Xtreme Sound has little quality to offer in the first place ;)
