Alpine cva 1005 picutre problems?

Hi,
My cva 1005 was working great until I had to take off the whole radio kit from the dash do some work behind it and re-install the head unit. While reinstalling, the radio was on with the display door open, and I noticed all the white lines/lettering on the monitor blinked yellow/white couple of times, so i decided to power off the unit until all installed back into the dash. Since reinstall, all the white that's suppose to show on the radio/cd/dvd screens is yellow no. Tried adjusting tint/color and all the other adjustments, even tried to reset the whole radio, but no luck. Anyone know what this could be? What's going on with my radio?

Thanks.

Make sure the VGA cable that goes to the brain is fully seated at both the display and the brain box. It's what controls the video signals.

I have a Alpine CVA-1005: Mobile Multi Media Station and i can't get anything outa it????

If it is pre 2004 I'm pretty sure it will need a brain. Unfortunately, the only way you are going to get a brain for it is by going to ebay or pawn shops. You may even get lucky going to garage sales.

How do i install a cva 1005 into an 89 s10

The easiest way to install it is to have it professionally installed. If you want to do it on your own its best to use an after market wiring harness which you can find here and a dash kit which you can find here.

The aftermarket wiring harness should have the same wire colors as the Alpine harness, so it's as simple as matching the colors, soldering or crimping the wires together and plugging it into the existing factory harness.

For the dash kit you have to remove the bezel around the current radio and remove the radio. While removing the bezel be careful as there may be screws holding it in place and pulling to hard can crack it. The dash kit comes with instructions on what pieces are needed for your specific vehicle and how it should be assembled to fit correctly in your truck. The kit is universal for GM and designed to fit in numerous models and years of vehicles.

Hope this helps and let me know if you have any other questions.

How can i test my alpine cva-1005 head unit

You can bench test it by hooking up powers and ground to a battery (12 volt) and use a speaker to one set of speaker wires at a time. Even a 12 volt cordless drill battery will work. Should only take a few minutes. You just won't get reception to radio stations without an antennae.

KNA G510 update software and add POI file

They either installed it under a seat (easy) or behind the dash (hard). It's probably behind the dash, which means it's gotta be all taken apart. When they were installing the head unit they prolly just stuck it right behind it. So it's basically a pain in the ***. You'd be able to find it by following the wires from behind the unit. I have the same problem, I might just take it to the guy who installed it and have him do it. Call around to different stereo installers, they may charge you like 30-60 bucks to have it done... it's probably worth it considering the pain it is getting the whole dash apart and back together again.

Alpine in dash dvd issue

Are your main speakers running through an amplifier? if so your using the wrong wire to turn them on. The blue wire will power them when the radio is on, but off for any other source. You need to use the Blue w/ white stripe.
