Re: d link cd
Then u have to setup ur router first
Turn off the power on your computer.
Securely connect an end of an Ethernet cable to your computer, as shown.
Securely connect the other end to any of the router's four LAN ports.
Connect a second Ethernet cable from the router's single WAN port to the modem.
Make sure the modem is connected to the jack or cable to the Internet that was set up by your ISP.
Start your network in this order:
Turn the modem power off.
Turn the router power off.
Turn the modem power back on. Wait two minutes until the lights are stable.
Turn the router power back on. Wait one minute until the lights are stable.
Turn the computer power back on.
Open an Internet browser, and type http://192.168.0.1. If a "Configuration Assistant" appears immediately, then do not follow the rest of these instructions. Follow the Configuration Assistant instructions, instead. Once you are finished, test your Internet connection by browing online,
Type admin for User Name, and password is blank. (do no type any thing for password.)
Click OK. This logs you into the router.
Click the Home tab and click the WAN button. Dynamic IP Address is the default value, however, if Dynamic IP Address is not selected as the WAN type, select Dynamic IP Address by clicking on the radio button. Click Clone Mac Address. Click on Apply and then Continue to save the changes.
Power cycle the cable modem and router:
Turn the cable modem off (first)
Turn the router off
Leave them off for 2 minutes**
Turn the cable modem on (first)
Wait until you get a solid cable light on the cable modem
Turn the router on
Wait 30 seconds
that would fix your problem.. in case if yoy have any problem revert back with your internet service providers name.(isp).

The rebooting is an essential process of installing a new piece of hardware to a modem.
When your modem boots up it leases an IP Address to the MAC Address of the first connected piece of hardware (router in your case). If you switch hardware without rebooting, your modem will not recognize the new piece of hardware because it has a different MAC Address. Every piece of hardware has its own MAC Address, unless it has been cloned.
Are you trying to install the router. You can do it manually without the CD. Make sure that your computer is able to go online through the modem. If your computer is able to go online through the modem Then you need to connect the computer to the router ad the modem to the router. open the set up page of the router and change the settings of the router according to the ISP. Click Here for step by step by instructions
You really don't need to use the cd. Below is a link to the setup procedure:
You'll need to connect a PC with a cable to the router. Open browser and type in http://192.168.1.1 in the address bar. Input username as admin, the password is password. If you need more help, let me know. I'm leaving a link to the setup manual for your router below:
Just connect the computer wired on the computer your mac and no need to run the disc because it will not read it because the cd for linksys is good only for windows. You may OPEN safarri or IE browser, then try type on the address bar 192.168.1.1 - nothing for username and password is admin.
from there you may configure the router on what type of internet connection you have from you ISP, don't forget to save settings...
For mac computer there is not need to use the Cd assistance.
With the router connected to the router and modem, open the internet explorer. On the address field of your IE type 192.168.2.1.
- Click on Connection Type in the left hand column under Internet WAN heading. If asked to log in, live it blank and - Select PPoE if you have a dsl connection. Enter your password and click Submit
-Select Dynamic, then click on Next,
- Select MAc adress in the left hand column .
- Click on Clon Mac Address then Aplly Changes.Wait 25 seconds.
-Close the windows.
-Unplg the cable from the green port for about 1 minute then plug it back in.
You shouldn't need to install anything off the CD. Simply plug your Macbook into the DIR-300 via ethernet (making sure you manually set your Macbook's IP to 192.168.0.x (where x is anything from 2-254). Then open up your web browser and type 192.168.0.1 into the address bar. This will log you into the DIR-300 (I think the default login is "admin" with no password).
Refer to the manual for the configuration for the rest of your setup.
Please excuse some silly question in order to help you.
1- did you connect this router to the adsl/cable modem? 2- does the ISP require you to clone the ethernet MAC address? 3- did you connect the modems ethernet port to the correct port on the router? 4- Is the router seeing an active link to the modem? 5- Is the router configured to be the DNS server or is this disabled. 6- did you enable any MAC filtering or enable any other security features? 7- If it's connected to an ADSL modem through ethernet, does the modem require a keep link alive/active ping so that it does not drop the link? 8- Does the PC the router is connected to have a firewall, if so this might be the problem.
you can configure that router without using the bundle CD. the default ip address for that router is 192.168.1.1. open internet explorer then type the ip address which is 192.168.1.1. then the default username is "admin" (without " ") then password is "admin" also. then you are now on the linksys webpage and you can configure there. it is much easier to use rather than using the bundle CD.
hope this can help you!
