My printer jammed when I tried to print a Tshirt transfer.

I'm trying to print Tshirt transfers but the paper is too thin and it jammed my printer. I don't want to try again 'coz it might do the same thing and it's a waste of paper transfer. My printer is a Photosmart C4180 all in one printer. The instructions on the tshirt transfer said do not use laser printers, only inkjet printer. I don't think my printer is a laser printer so how come it did not work?

Most Tshirt transfer paper is fairly thick you could try a different brand and double check that you are printing on the transfer paper not the thin separtion sheets used to stop the paper sticking together.

Ricoh sp c830dn running transfer paper for tshirt transfer. the toner is not adhering properly. poor transfer and ghosting. have tried various paper settings such as thick and special. no help have heard...

If it works fine for paper but not this application the machine is not designed for what you are using it for. You will damage the fusing unit. When it does not properly fuse the image the heat is insufficient and thus it does not transfer the image properly. Use the thickest paper type for best results.

We're trying to print on paper to make a tshirt transfer on the HP 3050 j610 but it keeps getting caught. Help!

T-shirt transfers are usually very thick paper in my experience. In the printer menu either on your computer or on the printer itself, try changing the paper type to card stock and see it that helps.

I am not sure what kind of transfers you are using, but I believe you need ones specific to laser printers if you are sending it through one. The transfers I have used are designed to seperate with the addition of heat (iron-on) and, as laserjet printers apply heat in order to bind toner to a page, inkjet transfers may separate prematurely, possibly causing damage to the printer.

How do I do mirror (or reverse) printing for a t-shirt transfer? Thanks.

If you are printing text only, you can create it using wordart in word and then use rotate or flip command to reverse the text.
If you are printing a JPG with text, the easiest way will be to use photoshop to edit the image and add text if desired, then use the mirror utility, The picture and text get reversed and the transfer is printed in reverse to become "positive" when you iron it on the Tshirt.

hope this helps.

Magicolor 2400w gives paper jam error at transfer roller, after I cleaned the printer -laser head.

My 2400W was standing a long time without being used, and when I wanted to use it, it made a very faint image and showed "paper jam at transfer roller". Also, the image stayed on the transfer belt, but never got transferred to the paper. I tried a lot of things, nothing worked, but the message from weirdal1968 above pointed me in the right direction.

I eventually scratched / scrubbed / cleaned the copper pad on the left side of the optical imaging drum - this copper pad probably receives the bias voltage for the imaging drum from a springy stainless steel wire. There was some visible darkening of the copper pad where the stainless steel wire touched, this is what I cleaned. And then, presto, problem solved - the image came out great, and no more "paper jam at transfer roller" error message.

Fuzzy prints, paper jam

If you would like the service manual reply with your email address (it's 5.87mb).
Your first problem could be caused by one of the following, feed roller from the paper tray is slipping making the paper to leave the tray late causing the registration sensor to flag an error because it hasn't detected the paper quick enough or the registration sensor is just not working, could even be the paper feed clutch or registration clutch. I don't think the problem is with the thin rollers.
The second problem could be a few things, possibly a consumable, i would start by swapping the consumables over between the two machines, transfer unit, transfer roller, cleaning roller, photo developers, fuser etc, if that doesn't cure the fault clean the hv connections. This problem is related to the high voltage so investigate in that area.
Sorry for being long winded, but without being in front of your printers its a bit of a guessing game.

Printing dark tshirt transfers - can't override the flipped image

Hello I think I can help you. I Would not use T shirt transfer when you make up your print I would select poster print or any other form that does not automatically reverse the image. The reason your software is designed to do this is on the regular transfer paper your laying the image down on the shirt, so for it to come out right it has to be reversed. With the dark T shirt transfer paper your peeling off the backing and putting the image face up on the T Shirt.
