My HP Officejet J5780 is frozen in delete

My HP Officejet J5780 is frozen in "delete mode." I've gone through the services menu to stop and start the print spooler, but I don't have the option to click neither "start" nor "stop." I also tried running the start and stop spooler commands, but that has no effect.

any suggestions?

HP OFFICEJET J5780 HOW TO GET SCANNER TO WORK

To get the scanner working this is what you should do. First, do not install the software for Officejet All-in-one J5780. Instead of this, install HP Officejet All-in-one J5700, you can get it from the HP website. I do not know why but this software makes the scanner work. You can then install J5780 which will delete some of the old files but will keep the scan file on.

How do I delete all jobs from the printer. I have 57 and chose "select all", but it does not delete??

Try to delete the print jobs while the printer is turned ON. Also, if you are using Windows, deleting print jobs is easier when the print spooler is stopped and the printer is turned ON.

  1. Click Start => Settings => Control Panel
  2. In the Control Panel window, click to open the "Administrative Tools"
  3. Double click the icon "Services" to open it.
  4. Locate the "Printer Spooler" service, click on it to select, and click the STOP button at at top. You can right click on it and click on STOP in the context menu that appears.
  5. Now turn ON your printer. It should not print the stored jobs since the spooler is stopped.
  6. Then open your printer's folder (Start => Settings => Printers and Faxes)
  7. Select all print jobs. Then press the "Del" or Delete key in your keyboard and click on YES when prompted. Another option is to select all and then under the "Document" menu, click CANCEL.
Try your luck. I hope these help.
  1. Turn your printer ON.

Will not scan. Says I do not have this option

Hi
I am just a helper
Your scanner maybe not be working because you not got the right driver software for it maybe or some thing gone wrong with your software.
So I have put a driver for your pcon my website for you to download and try, the driver is for your printer Hp officejet J5780 all-in-one so you can download it from this link. XP Driver
Click The Link = http://www.4all2sell.com/driver/Officejet-J5780-All-In-One-InkJet-Printer.exe

When you download save it to your desktop so you can find it, then all you have to do is double click on the icon to run the software and follow the instructions.

HP Officejet J5780 all in one Alignment problem cartridge will still not align after I've gone through the alignment routine. Cartridges are genuine HP and fairly new

Usually the yellow is the culprit. Dab the cartridge on a paper towel and see if all colors make a spot or line. if any color is missing it will not pass alignment, and you need a new cartridge.

Uncleared print job HP J5780 I'm pulling my hair out trying to print to my HPJ5780. With a failed manual duplex job, I tried to delete the print job from the queue. It came up fine as deleting - however...

Try stopping the print spooler service and canelling all the documents.

The Windows Print Spooler is a Windows XP "Service". You can start/stop it via the following steps:
  1. Click on the Start button
  2. click on Run
  3. enter "services.msc" without the quotes and press Enter
  4. Scroll down to Print Spooler
  5. Single-Click on Print Spooler
  6. The details will open in the middle of the window.
    • It probably shows Start -- if so, Start it.
    • If it shows Stop and Restart, I suggest Stop it, then Start it.
