All lights on front digital are flashing.

Hello i have a maytag refridgerator model# MFI2568AEW and serial# 10305650JE. the problem im having is the lights on the front display are flashing and the ice cube flap is constantly opening and closing. i was wondering if this is a simple fix that i can do myself. i am concerned that it might be a computer board that has gone out.

Your right. the main board which is on the back of the frig needs to be replaced. not hard to do, just follow the instructions that come in the box to reset the code

Ice maker does not shut off makes ice rill jammed then water goes everywhere

It sounds like you have a malfunctioning ice maker that could lead to future problems. The start device on some models of refridgerator for maytag and whirlpool have been recalled. If your appliance was manufactured in the last 5-10 years you may be having an issue with this component. Mine recently caught on fire at this device that is located near the compressor. If you would like to be a part of the petition for a recall on this appliance contact me at

Filter needs changing

You don't need a plumber. The filter is located inside the fresh food section, in top-right corner. There is an elongated cover with a tab in front. Press the tab towards the back of the fridge slightly and pull the cover front down. There is your filter. No need to turn the water off either. Just twist the filter counterclockwise and it will pop off.
The part number of the filter is UKF8001, can be purchased in any appliance parts store, for example here. "New10"coupon takes 10% off.
