Question about Saeco Magic De Luxe Espresso Machine
The tray and dregs light flashes when the machine turns on. It seems like everything is snug and in place. I can't make the light go out and obviously the machine won't operate. This is a refurbished modle that I just received today. Thanks
Yes, I had similar problem (still do) because after a few years the heater element had slightly warped the left side of the dreg drawer, so the tab no longer actuates the micro switch unless you insert it very carefully. I'm the only one in the office who has the "Magic" (ahem) touch, everyone else goes raving nuts when they can't get the light to go out.

You can't make the light go out because the dreg drawer, brewing unit and drip tray, all activate micro switches when they are inserted. One or more of the micro switches have gone open circuit, or they may just be dirty or clogged with coffee granules. You can only fix this problem by opening the machine up.
The light goes out when contact is made with the micro switch. No contact made, no light goes out.
