Printer prints colours in different colours

I have a feeling that this is a problem that you will only be able to resolve by changing the colour cartridge for a new one and then doing multiple head cleaning operations.
It sounds as if the three tanks in the colour cartridge have become severely contaminated with ink from the others, thus giving this overall brown colour on the page, whichever colour the computer tells the printer to print.
To check this you may be able to use something like a Word document and using the font properties, change the colour of the font on the screen for a number of different lines (eg one line - bright yellow, another - bright red, a third - bright blue, a fourth - black) print this out and see what colours you get.

Your Cannon printer is not the problem. You will get different print color depending on the paper you are using, For example you will get different print result if you print on color paper than on white paper and a different print if you print on photo paper. Another alternative is to lighten the tone of your purple. I don't know what your objective is and what project you're working on but I hope this might help.

Your printer head may be close. In these setuation you need to clean your printer cartrige head manually with amonia or aqua and water. I think red colour come out very soon after cleaning the head.

If your printer prints only yellow instead of red. The is a huge possibility that your printer's head is already clogged. Try running the printer maintenance by cleaning the printer head. If that doesn't work, you probably need to have the printer head replaced. I hope this helps.

Yellow is one of the colours used to produce a shade of red.

I don't know how but ther must be a way to print a test page to see if the print heads need cleaning I've never used a brother.

It seems to be a problem with the colour ink cartridge ,did you remove the protective tape that came with it?
you should return the colour cartridge and get it replaced or buy another one.
If that doesn't solve it then return the printer since it's under warranty.

Call tech support. I believe your print head is in need of replacement. Usually they will send you out a new on free - in 3-5 days. They are foreigners (tech support) but they are knowledgable and very helpful.

Check your other colours. Anything other than a True Type Font is printed in colour shaded with black, so it sounds like you have a problem with yellow and cyan. Either the ink cartridges are out or the print heads have a blockage.
If the cartridges are not empty or v low, try sitting the print head over a folded paper kitchen towel damped with hot water for 10 minutes. Remove it and try your diagnostic again.

The colours in the 3 colour cartridges are cyan, magenta and yellow. If you want to print "red", this requires a mixture of magenta and yellow. Thus if only yellow is printed when you should be printing red, it means the magenta is not printing i.e. faulty/empty magenta cartridge or faulty/blocked magenta nozzles.

Red is a combination of Magenta and Yellow. Print a nozzle check and observe for Magenta, Yellow and cyan. If the three colours are printed, no problem with the cartridge. Then it must be the problem of seeing colours in your monitor. .
