I have a 97 GMC Sierra K1500 p/u. 3 days ago, the left blinker began going really fast, indicating a blown bulb. The rear driver side brake light and blinker are not working, but the reverse bulb and the tail light when the headlights are on work just fine. I changed out the bulb in the driver side rear assembly, and checked all 3 bulbs, they all work. I reassembled the tail light and checked the blinker and brake light, they are still not working. I checked the fuses in the panel and in the fuse relay, they are all ok (as far as I can check). I can not figure out why the brakelight and blinker won't work. Can you help? Thanks!

How do we resolve the continual replacement of the rear right side taillight circuitry board of a 1997 GMC 1500?. The right side tailight board lasts for a period of time and then quits working until replaced. Figure their is a mfg problem or short and would like to resolve. Any ideas>
Ok i want you to use a 12 volt test light. And I want you to invest in 2 pieces of wire 12 foot long and 2 small clips red and black from auto parts store or radio shack.get a 25 ft roll of 12 ga flexable wire.now put a red clip one one and a black clip on the other. you make up a ground tester and a positive tester what ever you do don't let them touch each other.while your testing.. First i want you to test the light bulb socket for ground. to do this use your red clamp on your + pos battery post. tie a knot or put some red tape on the opiset end from the red clamp . so its like a set of jumper cables with only one clamp .do.it so you never get your wires crossed. ok from the red hot post to your test light clip your test light must light when you touch the socket. if it does you have good ground. if not you need to ground it with your - neg black clamp run it to your socket it will now light.your gmc lights. And check tail , Stop , turn signals. you can test any light trouble with this set up. Print this or just read it a few times. It realy works. use a wire brush like a battery cable cleaner to clean the socket holder. shine all connections.
hope this helps you. it sure did me when my dad gave me a copy of this set up..

I replaced 3027 w/ 3027. There was quite a bit of old bulb grease in there, I cleaned the contact areas w/ rubbing alcohol.
