I have a sharp aquos model Sharp Aquos LC-20B2U 20 in. LCD Television . it works great for about 2 years, then suddenly shut down by itself. then it turns on again for a variable time, then once again...

if your TV lights the indicator when you power it on,, your problem is your back light is busted you can replace that and when the indicator not lights the problem is your power supply you can fix it by finding defective parts by using multimeter usually the trouble that i encounter to power supply is open/change value of resistor leak capacitor and shorted diode and transistor such as regulator you're always welcome

Sharp flat screen

Hello irishsusan,
Listen carefully, facing the TV from the front, go to the right side of the TV. Look closely where the input jacks are and you will see a small peep hole. Get a small hair pin or tooth pick and press into that hole for about 8 second. This will reset the set to its original specification. If there is 2 hole, just try one first, if that fail to work, try the next.

Let me know what happened

Best Regards

This could be your inverter panel, a stand-by power supply problem. It's difficult to say without more info on what you have checked if your a tech!

Just bought 42" Aquos but has bad picture quality in Analog & Digital cable

There is no secret to adjusting the picture settings on this unit. My unit is perfect with Hi Def signal and better with Blu Ray. I assume you are using HDMI cables and have tried a new HDMI cable to eliminate the possibility of a bad cable. If you have done this then the unit has a problem and I would take it back or contact Sharp to get an auth. service center involved.

Flat panel displays half screen, mirrored on bottom half of screen

Have several problems with either a bad LVDS cable from Main unit to the LCD controll bd. Sometimes the cable is just not connected properly. If you reseat this cable and the problem still exists you most likely have a bad LCD control bd.
