Re: help

Exactly the same way you download a picture--it is automatic, and has a different format from the pictures.

I have no idea how to put my videos and pictures on my computer. I really want to upload videos to You-Tube also please help me!

You should be able to transfer the video files from your camera's memory card either using the USB cable or more simply by taking the card out of the camera and putting it into a card reader attached to the computer. Many computers have memory card readers built in these days, but if you don't have one you can buy one for SD memory cards from Poundland for a quid.

Either connecting the camera with USB cable or using a card reader, you will find the memory card appears as a drive in Windows "Your Computer". Just copy the files from it. You may have to negotiate file folders to get to them, or Windows may pop up a box asking what you want to do with the newly discovered drive.

Editing and converting videos is a large subject, which you will have to put in some time learning, but getting the files onto your computer should be simple.

My camera wont upload videos, but it works fine with pictures.

Goto any radio shack and get a external memory card reader this will allow you to get your pictures if the camera or cable is defective.

Won't transfer video to the computer

You probably need a Mpeg 4 decoder. Try downloading on for free at and see if that does the trick.

Trying to play off-camera stored video, when replaced onto SD card in camera

Did you change the file name on the original video? Are you able to put the video back onto the camera? If you changed the file name, you can't put it back onto the camera. It also needs to be in AVI format which is the video format that the camera records in.

Hope this helps!

Transferring PC videos TO a Sony Cybershot?

It probably won't work but here is something to try: Make a short video clip with the camera. Then look at the memory stick with the computer to find out the name of the video and what folder it is in. If the camera makes .avi videos, you will have to convert your home videos to the .avi format. Then rename the video to a name similar to the one the camera made. i.e. If the camera named its video Vid00023.avi, then you should rename you home video to something like Vid00034.avi. Then put your video in the exact same folder where the camera put its video. That will give it a chance to be recognized by the camera. But I doubt it will play in the camera.
