Just recently the icemaker will only dispense crushed ice regardless of there the lever is set. How can we fix so we can get cubed ice again. I have cleaned the dispenser chute out thoroughly on two occasions and can not resolve the problem.
You have a solenoid switch which switches the dispenser back
and forth from crushed to cube. It could be stuck or not working or the parts
connecting it could be disconnected or broken. You will have to observe to see
if any parts are moving and if any noise is coming from the solenoid
Remove the dispenser cover by gently prying starting at the
bottom going round and round a little at a time to prevent from breaking it.
When it's off the screws will be exposed to access the other components

Both sides of the refrigerator will just shut off for no reason. I had a new computer installed and once again found it off. No lights on the door, no power at all.

I have a built-in monogram series side-by-side refrigerator 36x42x48 bought in 2002. About every half hour or so it makes a noise that sounds like a machine gun about 10 rapid tat-tat-tat sounds to the left side in the freezer area. I have removed the ice maker aparatus turned the ice maker off and pulled the plug apart inside the ice maker area and it still makes the sound. A GE repairman has come out but doesn't know what is wrong. Any ideas? Jim McNelis

The dispenser on my GE Monogram side by side will only dispense water. Neither the crushed nor cube works. This just after repairs to replace the heater pad on the evaporater. Switch, solenoid, wire?
