Trying to install a Dell monitor with my existing Compaq pc. I can get it to power up, but right before my desktop displays the screen goes blank then I get an "Out of Range" error. Can you help?

- I have not changed my monitor or settings with the x2 gen 19". The out of range message came up and my screen is black. Now I can't access my computer because I do not have another monitor. Is this just a matter of changing the resolution of the monitor- stp3489

maybe your new monitor cant handle the resolution settings your old monitor was using, try installing your old monitor, or one you know can use the setting you have defaulted, then lower the resolution, and then try the new one again, or boot the new one in safe mode, hope this helps
