I tested my receiver with the cover off and a fan blowing over it and it still does the same thing, turns on for a few seconds then turns off. Can anyone out there tell me which component may be doing this ?

I tested my receiver with the cover off and a fan running over it. It does the same thing ,goes on for a few seconds and shuts off. There must be a component that's bad. Does any one know which switch, relay or other part may be doing this ?

After a few minutes, I will hear a loud "pop" and then the system will shut down. The reciever itself is on but it doesn't send any sound through the speakers. Is this a fixable issue or is the whole thing "scrap"?

It is over heating. Mine did the same thing. Make sure you have plenty of breathing room for it
