Just goes to black screen

I got a brand new 37 in Vizio about a week ago. It has been working fine until yesterday. Whenever you turn it on it goes to a black screen. There is no volume and none of the buttons work. The only way to turn it off is to unplug it.

You might want to check the VIZIO website for help. Given how cheap even 4K UHD TV's are today, probably not worth fixing again. Unless under warranty, of course.

My Vizio LCD TV screen fades to dark. Sound stays on.
I w having this same issue when watching a Blu-Ray disc. I found it to be dependent upon what picture mode the TV was set to. By this I mean certain picture modes would cause the TV to dim during dark scenes of a movie. Changing the picture mode helped a lot.

Sounds like a bad backlight inverter. It will only get worse. Good news it's not usually that expensive to have it replaced.

It's possible that the motherboard or the controller board for the screen is defective. At this point, I would use the warranty from Vizio. It should be no doubt that it covered. Here's the info you will need from the Vizio web site.
