The old relay did not have a splice. I find it strange with a new part from the manufacturer that I would have to splice. I still do not understand about the jumper wire that was included with the kit

You need at least two terminals on your relay to hook up a capacitor, one wire of the capacitor goes on one terminal of the relay and the other capacitor wire would get spliced in with the neutral line that plugs into the relay

Can a refrigerator overload and relay be connected remotely from the compressor? I cannot find the proper replacement unit for my magic chef refrigerator compressor.

The overload definitly not, it needs to be to be touching the compressor, as it is a temp. sensing device. And the currnet coil relay could be replaced with a potential relay, which is not connected in the same manner, (ie, not on the compressor prongs), but it must be sized properly! Hope this helps

I have had my Magic Chef MCBR360S in my garage for about 2 years. Worked fine. Now it just stopped working. Any suggesstions?

Unplug and try connecting the thermostat wires together,if it comes on then replace the thermostat. If while unplugged remove the start relay and overload on the compressor. Shake around to see if anything shakes around inside re install and give that a try, Sea Breeze

MY magic chef CTB1922 IS NOT COOLING

Sounds like your compressor overload tripping. Compressor may be stuck from sitting. Start relay may be stuck from sitting. Try a new start relay after making sure all your wires and connections are good. Sometimes a wrap with a deadblow hammer on the side of the compressor can get it going. Don't pound on it just a light wrap. My guess is the relay or overload first. Unplug before fooling with any wiring!
