Question about Kenmore Oasis 27042 Top Load Washer
Hi I have the Kenmore ELITE Oasis HE. I am recieving the error code F50 and I would like to try and solve this myself. I saw a post about code F51. Is this in any relation to the F50? And if so how do i access the harness they are talking about.

After only 2 years & 2 months I had the F50 code too. I hadn't bought the extended warranty as we were buying 3 big appliances. I figured odds were that all 3 would last at least 5 years & if 1 out of the 3 did break it would be cheaper to buy a new one than having to pay warranties on 3 appliances at the point of sale. Anyway, I seriously considered just buying a brand new washer since this model does seem to have serious issues after I did some research on the internet. It would cost $75 just to have a Sears repairman give an estimate & I knew the parts would be at least $200. I'd rather put that $ toward a new washer. I figured I'd call Sears to complain that even though I didn't have a warranty, this expensive model seemed to have a very poor reputation & maybe they'd help me out. No freebie fix-it offer but I was told that I could buy a 1-year service contract or $215 +tax. I called 888-528-6326 & bought it. A repairman came out & had to order parts so he set up the actual repair for a week later. He was very helpful & pro-active. He replaced the part that was broken & also replaced the entire top circuit panel with an upgraded version. I guess he figured that it would break eventually too. So now I'm covered for the next year...hopefully with the upgraded parts this machine will last a lot longer. If I get another 5 years out of I'll be very happy. It really does do a fantastic job cleaning clothes.

F50CODE IS COMING ON AFTER 20 SECONDS ON EVERY CYCLE

The most common fix is to replace the speed sensor, but sometimes it just need to be clean. but you can try to lay down the washer and take the magnetic motor out and you gonna see the speed sensor connect to the motor, take that out and unplug the wires than cleaning the connections, just do a little scratches at the speed board connection, that should work.
I do that almost every day and I never came back to the same house

I’m still working on my washer so this is not a success story. I was getting the F51 code and I found that the RPS circuit board was burned up (I could clearly see the fried components). I also found two of the wires smashed with the wires exposed, so I taped them up. I ordered a replacement RPS sensor and installed it today. No more F51 code, but now I’m getting a F50 code. So I took everything apart looking for anything that would stop the drum from turning. While I doing so, I found the “Service Manual” in a plastic bag stuck on the front inside wall of the washer. If your not scared to take things apart you’ll want to take a look at this manual. To get it you will need to take off the top cover of the washer (remove the two hinges at the back then pull the top towards you about an inch then raise the top. Don’t break the wire at the back) you should then see the plastic bag with the service manual inside. Hope this saves someone a few hours of troubleshooting. Looks like I've got to replace the motor in my unit.
F50 = Motor Stalled
F51 = RPS Failure
F52 = Motor Stop Failure
F53 = Motor Control Overtemp
F54 = Motor control Overcurrent

You are not going to believe this but I had the feared F-51 code on my machine and after doing a ton of electrical troubleshooting and part replacement........the problem was a pair of Boxers jammed in between the walls of the drums!!!!!! REMEMBER.....
