"MY TOSHIBA MODEL:50H60 has the same problem it had 2 years ago..."
I bought this wonderful TV in Costa Rica and now we are back in the states for a while and brought it with us. When it was only 3 years old we would turn it "ON" and the red sensor light on the front would just flash and no pic, no sound would emit. I took it in to a real ass..... and 10 days later he said it was fixed for the tune of $350.00. He said it was the "IFC" sumpin' having to do with the power source. Also, when we had unplugged it and plugged it back in to try to "reset" it, the sensor light wouldn't come on for about 5 seconds then you could hear a "click" sound and then the light would flash red. The remote control wouldn't work to turn it off or on. You had to unplug it to stop the sensor light from flashing, still with no pic or sound. Well, it worked for almost exactly 2 years and NOW the same problem has returned. At one point in time about 1 year after it was initially repaired, it happened and I called the A...hole and he told me to unplug it and let it sit for a couple of days which i did and then i was to plug it back in and THAT worked by using the control. BUT, now it has been dead for a few weeks and after trying to contact Toshiba I have had it with their non-respondance and I care not to use the previous TV techy. I know that I can fix this damn thing...with a little help from you guys!!!! Can you PLEASE help me out BEFORE the "PACKERS" head into the playoffs??? Thank you so much and if you help me I will be at your beckoning call to help you with ANY pet problems, since I am a Veterinarian and I PROMISE you that I will keep my word!!! dr. jimm

The only workaround for this "problem" is to connect the garmin to the PC, go to the GARMIN folder and rename the file gmapprom.img (this is the main map file) to 1gmapprom.img
reset the device and it will load the costa rica map.
when you need to use the base map again, undo the renaming.
if you delete an app that you have already bought and payed for, iTunes will let you download it again for free. maybe if you try downloading it again, it will let you do so for free?
This unit only contains the maps for the United States and Canada, and it doesn't appear to have any more maps available for it. You could call the manufacturer, but it looks like there aren`t any maps for Costa Rica for this device.
Bought a PN-60. Purchase download for costa rica, will not download software. Did a auto detect, no dive found. This is a new cable and the usb port has port has been checked with other devices. Stuck in Costa Rica with a use gps. Cost of shipping this back is not cheap.
You did a great job describing my problem - any help would be appreciated.
