HELP!! my camera will not turn on at all

Hey, I have a dilemma :/ my camera fell off of a little bench a few weeks ago and the camera was off and the lens was in. My camera will not power on, make a noise or anything, the screen doesn't even light up. I've charged my battery until it was fully charged and put it in and, nothing. I tried switching batteries with my friend who has the same camera and still nothing worked. Nothing looks visibly wrong. Is it hopeless?
please help!

Thank you for using FixYa for your problem

It should be taken to an authorized repair centre for a repair estimate. Very few digital cameras have any user-serviceable parts.

Zoom lens is stuck on my camera

Hey, my husband just fixed it! You just wiggle/bend the zoom lens, and you feel a "pop", and then the zoom retracts and you're fine! I was afraid to "break" it, but someone on vacation had the same problem and told him this solution a few weeks ago. So don't be afraid to use a little force-at least, in our case, it worked! Good luck.

Nikon Coolpix s210

Hey SandyG1019,
If you just purchased this camera 2 weeks ago it might still be within the retailers return/exchange period, and I would suggest you just exchange it for a new one. This error message should mean that something is obstructing the movement of the lens (i.e. sand), but could also be do to a problem with the lens mechanism itself. If you choose to try and resolve the problem you could try blowing compressed air into the side of the lens to try and dislodge whatever is stuck in the lens. This being said I would suggest instead having the camera looked at by an authorized service technician since the camera is most likely covered under a manufacturers’ warranty, and the repair would most likely be free. I hope this helps!

Won't turn on

Try inspecting the battery contact points in the battery enclosure. Make sure to check the points deep in the well to make sure you have no corrosion in there. Just a little moisture can cause problems.

Also determine if the place it was stored was affected by heat of cold.

These are a couple of thoughts, maybe they will help.
