Anyone have or know where I can obtain a rebuild manual for a getrag 360 manual transmission(circa 1990 dodge diesel pu)

Of course. It tells the Engine Computer the position of the crankshaft and that controls the spark timing and other functions.

id' say its made by a top transmission maker in japan.
and fully spec'd out by Isuzu.
why do you ask?

• what?
• does it fit other cars?, why not ask a transmission exhange shop or rebuilder. that. they can answer, that.

most transmissions of this type use a standard box but with OEM
tail shaft houses, designed by Isuzu to fit transfer case .

for a diesel I have no idea, google exchanges for that.
google tranny rebuild kits.
or google swaps. for same.

i do manuals. and best is to find a donor car.
then pull the tranny and have 2 tranny
then get the kit and make one good transmission.

4x4 is lots of work, pulling the transfer case.
my guess is you did and UN-jammed forks and shift rails already.

top loader boxes are bliss. and is
the top must come off and most trucks have no huge floor pan plate to do that.
some guys gen one up from scratch.

no way let metal parts fall in and jam the cluster gear that is DOOMED

it is a non serviceable getrag unit. The whole transmission will have to be replaced.

Get a phone book and find local transmission repair shops, call them and ask how much to rebuild yours, or to exchange yours for a rebuilt one. You do not want a new transmission, you want a rebuilt. It is to old to spend that much money.

GL4 or 75-90 weight gear oil....I use to use almost 3 quarts.. just keep filling inthe fill hole until it comes out and then force more in and put the bolt on it... better to slightly overfill gear oil boxes they do not foam like hydraulic fluid...Plus that Manual getrag tranny is discontinued when those aluminun housed trannys blow the case cracks... you will be onthe National PArts locater trying to find one they costs 500-800 bucks froma junkyard!!!!

Look inside the bell. There should be a plate there. remove the plate and you will find a bolt under there. If you are not a regular trans person, I don't recommend fixing this yourself. That trans needs a special fixture that it sits on to take apart and put back together.

Standard transmissions are not that expensive when you get one from a wreck. (At least not here in upstate NY), If you make one mistake you will be pulling it back out, Even owning a trans shop for 25 years and rebuilding everything from Merc. to chevy's I rarely made any money rebuilding a standard and always recommend used except when there was a design flaw like the Ford exploders of the 90's when my repair fixed the flaw.

Have you checked the speed sensor on the rear axle? In most cases that is the defective part on this vehicle for the speedo not working.
