Question about Apple iPod MP3 Player
Last night my ipod was charging fine and showed up on my computer and itunes. this morning it stopped working period. It wont turn on and it doesn't turn on or show up when I plug it into my comp. I've already tried all of the restart options and toggled the hold switch, etc...
DO SOLUTION #2 ON HERE. HOLD DOWN MIDDLE BUTTON AND MENU BUTTON AT SAME TIME FOR ABOUT 40 LONG SECONDS. WHEN YOUR FINGERS START TO HURT...YOU KNOW...I WORKED FOR ME...MY IPOD WORKED FINE EVENTHOUGH LOW CHARGE. THEN IT JUST SHUT OFF. WHEN I TRIED TO CHARGE IT, IT DID NOTHING, NOTHING ON IPOD, NOTHING SHOWED UP ON COMP. I TRIED THE 40 SEC THING AND IM BACK UP...THANKS GUYS!

From what your describing, I would change the Battery and it should be fine.
if the battery is not in good shape you can charge it forever and it still won't work properly.
I suggest: Change the battery

My ipod had the same problem, I assumed that it was the battery so i threw it in a drawer. Its been in a drawer for more than 5 years, I decided to check any fixes for it and i read this thread I had tried this solution before holding the middle and menu buttons and nothing would work, so i tried the same thing today and i got the same results i was about to give up and tried this while holding the buttons i un-plugged it and plugged it back and it worked it showed the apple logo and came back to life. Try it hopefully this will work

Take it to where you bought it and have them repair but tell them to do it for free

I had the same problem with my iPod. I suggest first trying to charge it by the alternate method, ie. if you were using the USB cable with the computer, use the wall charger or vice versa. If this doesn't work, then wait for 24 hours and now plug it into the computer with a USB charger. If it starts to charge, leave it to charge for a full cycle.

Well sounds like a lot of problems with similiar signs
the faded ipod screen is the power is going out quickly and the one with the lines (mine does this when i force it to reset ssoo it is being forced to reset via converter is out battery is dead etc.)
as for the other ones try the usual slew of reset / diagnoses options see if you can't get something to come up other wise it is hard to diagnose the good news is sounds like all the hard drives are recylce able sell em on ebay make some money

I had a some what of a similar problem. Luckily i have 2 ipods 1 30 Gb and a 80Gb i had to connect the battery the the other ipod and charge it from there. If you only have one ipod i suggest buying a new batt.

You should change battery. I have just changed my ipod battery, then it works again. Make sure you buy battery model: 616-0183 because this battery is compatible with 616-0215.
