Check to see if your thermistor is bad by measure the resistance. It should be 10K Ohms at room temperature. If it's bad, replace it BUT you have to CLEAR to error code. 1. Enter to Service Mode by press CHIME and TEMPERATURE keys for 3 seconds or until 3 beeps are heard. 2. Access Diagnostic Codes by pressing WRINKLE PREVENT. A d will be displayed. Rotate the CYCLE SELECTOR KNOB in either direction to read it. 3. Press SENSOR DRY and TIME keys for 3 seconds to clear it. 4. Power OFF to exit Service Mode 5. Power ON
This is a problem with the signal from the water heating element "Thermistor" a Thermistor is a solid state sensor that senses temperature, in this case water temp. The Thermistor is part of the washers water heating assembly and not sold separately from it. There is a factory repair bulletin associated with the problem and the new part has improved reliability. I can't understand what the Maytag folks you called would tell you it is not listed, it is a common fault in the Neptune. Please rate my help. Thanks
remove all connectors 1 at a time and make sure theres no corrosion or moisture that can kill system signals, then if theres moisture, carefully dry out boards with heat then again check connections
ALWAYS UNPLUG YOUR DRYER BEFORE ATTEMPTING TO DO ANY WORK ON IT. Check to make sure you are getting full 220 Volt power to the dryer, if you are then: Sounds like your problem may be with the heating coil. Remove the back/or front just under the door of the machine and try to locate the air duct going from the blower to the drum. Normally inside/outside the air duct you will find the heating coil and the thermostats/thermistors. Once you have located the heating coil, remove the two wires from it and check the coil with an ohm meter across the two terminals of the coil. You should read continuity across the terminals, if not you will need to replace the coil as it is faulty. If the heating coil is ok, then: You can check the thermostat/thermistor one at a time by removing the two wires and taping them together with electrical tape or with an ohm meter to test the thermostat/thermistor. (Should have/show continuity) If the coil heats up then replace the thermostat/thermistor. DO NOT LEAVE THE WIRES TAPED TOGETHER AFTER THE TEST. This could cause a FIRE, as you have removed the safety of overheat from the machine.

Good Luck, Hope this helps Please rate me, Thank you
turn gas off to dryer. For safety it is best not to wait get your gas company to find leak(i don't think they charge for that)if it is at the control valve you should take the screws that hold the coils down out.Remove coils and rubber O rings and replace all with new ones it comes as a kit
Q - My gas dryer will not heat, what could stop my dryer from heating? A - Things that could stop a gas dryer from heating: - glow bar igniter, thermal fuse ( not all models ), coils on the gas valve, gas valve, thermostats, motor heat switch, timer, selector switch, sensor. A page for checking gas dryers is here.
There´s a sensor inside that controls the temperature in order to prevent overheating. Mostly they work with resistance. Oxydation can influence the resistance value, as like as some fluff. Second option: you have perhaps not only one heating coil, perhaps one is not working.
Thanks for the Chat session I hope I fixed your problem I would like to email you the complete service manual on your model if that is ok it will show you everything and how to break it down please post your email
Thanks Gary
