Re: network

What OS are you running? If it's XP then go to add a new printer. Choose "local" and creata a new TCP_IP port or something similar. Enter the IP address as configured in the printer.

Most printers show that addres via a display or by printing a configuration page. Check your manuals on how to do that if you don't know how to.

Make sure your own PC's IP adress is in the same range as the printer's. So when the printers' is yours should be 192.168.1.x (where x cannot be highter than 254 and shouldn;t be 100)

I hope this helps. Please reply if you have more questions or still can't get it to work as you want.

A number of things such as updates, restarting the router etc etc will have caused it to do this.
3 ways of doing it:
1. Use the disk.
2. HP Officejet Pro 8630 All in One Printer Software and Drivers click software and drivers, follow the steps
3. Go to start > devices and printers > add printer > choose local if connecting via USB, choose networked printer if wireless, click next and follow the steps.

I think what we're dealing with then is a Windows Firewall problem, for whatever reason its blocking Internet Explorer and Safari from the net. The globe is proof that even Vista can see internet on your connection. We need to allow those programs through your firewall.

Internet explorer and Safari are the ones we are looking for. Let me know if this helps. Unfortunately my vista machine is at home or else I could give you more precise instructions.
