Re: game not working
Okay, maybe the game is not compatible with the ps2, for eg if ur in europe they make the ps2's PAL compatible, if you're in USA they make em NTSC. other probs might be that clicking noise, doesnt sound too promising!! i dunno but dont get angry and smash the ps2 on the top, that wont help at all!! (like i did ^^)

Okay, are you using the original PS2? If you are then it more then likely is the age of the console. The original PS2 console actually can't play some of the games that were made after the PS2 slim was released. If your using the slim than the only thing i can advise is to try using a laser lens cleaner disc and see if that helps :)
Games like God of War 2, Grand Turismo 4 etc take time to load and some times these games are not loaded by consoles with weak lenses or dirty lens. You should consider cleaning your lens.Cleaning lens might solve your problem plus here is a trick for you to play such heavy games(Although its about playing DVDs on PS2 but you can play your game by following this tip the same way.) if it is a double layered game (backup...u need to burn it with layerbreak set on auto and on DAO if that don't work try incremental instead. Also...if your system is modified with a chip...try and get a MArs pro chip instead...not modbo or matrix infinity....those chips have a hard time reading GOW
if your system isn't modified...try changing the laser...it could be getting weak
try and change the settings on your ps2
on the screen that says browser and system configuration press triangle.this will take you to another screen. while Playstation Driver is highlited press triangle again. this will take you to a screen that will allow you to adjust the way in which your ps2 reads discs that are inserted. try changing the settings to fast nd smooth
also some times you just have to insert the game over and over again until it works. its kinda like breaking in a new pair of shoes
the problem with god of war 2 is the ps2 lasers are not capable of reading the dual layer disks. either wait and get a ps3, change the laser - i just bought on for 3 quid on e bay brand new. the lasers are not designed to be played the amount they are played. the laser is designed to play 20 hours a week but as sony found out he avg gamer will clock up up tp 60 hours a week so the lasers are only lasting 1/3rd of the time they should. plus if they put a good laser in the machine u would one buy 1 ps2 and then 1 ps3. i have burned out 3 ps2's so far lol. just forget the game or wait till its put on platinum as these are single layerd disk
