Delete all your USB drivers from device manager and then restart your computer. This will allow the computer to re-detect and install them. This should fix your problem.

You can get to device manager by opening control panel, then system, hardware, then device manager.

How do I put pictures from my home computer onto the SanDisk?

Once you plug the sandisk into your computer, a window should pop up asking you if you want to view the files on the disk, if it does, click on it. If not, just go to Start Menu -> My Computer -> (The Flash Drive). Move this window to the side so you can see the desktop aswell as the flashdrive folder. (You have have to 'demaximize' (Restore Down) the window so that you can see the desktop aswell. Then go to the start menu again and go to "My Pictures" or wherever your pictures are located. then, you can click and drag the pictures from the "My Pictures" folder into the FlashDrive's folder. Once all the images are copied into the flashdrive folder, you can unplug the flash drive and the images will be on it.
Hope this helped, Nathan Taylor

How to rcover from my sandisk back to my library

1. Does the flash drive LED light up when you plug it into various computers? ( not just your own fortesting purposes).

2. Does it pop up in windows explorer at all? ( Should be labeled as Removable Disk by default)

Your flashdrive may have essentially died. Test this flashdrive on multiple computers to determine whether its your computer or the flash drive. If you are trying to recover information try out the app Recuva which can be found on google search. Your information may have been corrupted.

When I plug my flashdrive in it wont recongnize it and it wont even light up anymore. It just worked the other day and now it doesn't! Whats wrong? Please help all of my school work is on it!!

Hello,

First of all make sure that the USB port that you are using to connect it to your PC is a USB 2.0 port, and not USB 1.0.

Also if it came with an external power, connect it to the external power before putting on your PC.

This is because the voltage supplied by USB 1.0 is lower than that of USB 2.0 and therefore might not be enough to power up your USB Drive.

After making sure about this, power up your system, and plug the flash drive, then Right-Click on my computer icon, select manage, then go to Disk Management Option.

On the Disk management option Page you should see ALL the drives installed on your system, including the hidden ones, so what you will just do is, try and locate the one representing your flash drive, and right click on it. then select "Change Drive letter and Paths", and give the drive any new, unique letter (i.e alphabet) different from the ones already on your system, and click on OK.

This should make your Flash Drive to be detected automatically.

You can also try it out on a friend's system.

Kindly keep me posted about the problem and let me know how it goes.

Hope this helps you out.

Goodluck!

SanDisk 8GB lights up but wont register

This one is just a hunch. The drive might be bad but this is worth a try. Its possible the drive letter somehow changed on the flashdrive. Plug in the drive, RIGHT click on "My Computer" and select "Manage" from the drop down menu. Now select "Disk Management" from the list. If you see your flash drive on the list, right click on it and select "Change drive letter and paths", then click on "change", now assign it a new letter like "F" for example. Click ok, ok, ok. If it showed up the the list and it's still not registering, unplug it and plug it back in. Hope that helps.

Sony Vaio PCG-GRT 260G Wont Start

wow, seems like you've diagnosed it already. Either it's a bad board trace or a bad connection in the switch control. It sounds like you put it back together before you started pressing on it. I'd try starting with repair4laptop. Though they don't have a specific set of instructions for that laptop, they have a few close. I'd try bypassing the switch by finding what two connections on the mainboard the switch operates (going downstream from the switch, which two connections are completed when the switch is pushed. Try jumping these to see if it always starts the laptop. If it does, than you might be able to swap out the switch or solder on an alternative switch with parts from radioshack.

Repairing a trace isn't that easy (as you probably know). they are covered with epoxy resin and you'll have to scrape this off, but if you can follow it back to an easy to solder union or joint, maybe you could attach a few small wires that will allow you to bypass the damaged area.

or, replace the motherboard entirely for $200

USB Flash Drive

By chance was the flashdrive formatted in NTFS? If so, try FAT32.
Also, if you are right clicking a file and using "send to", don't do that. Try "copy" instead, then go to My Computer, right click your flashdrive and select "paste." Then safely remove and see if the files are there.

unfortunately the files cannot be recovered immediately, macs a are compatible with PC flash drives but not the other way around. you need to format the disk. go to start>my computer> then right click on the flash drive and then left click on format, then click ok. when it is done bring the flash drive back to the mac and put the files back on. now try putting the flash drive into the pc again
