Printer/computer not communicating

I have tried 3 different printers. My computer will not communicate with any of them. What settings on my computer might I need to change?

All-in-ones usually have 2 phone  jacks, a USB port and maybe  even an Ethernet (big wide "phone jack" like connector)- any chance you have USB cable (which is how you print ands scan), pluged into the wrong port? is there a chance you usb cord is bad?

Lexmark can be awkward, though they don't mean to be. Do you have the original cd that came with your printer? If this is a computer problem, can you tell me what hardware you have? Computer - hp, dell, etc. And what version of Windows are you using? Because to be honest, if you connect correctly, any version of Windows in current use should find your printer and install it.

SOURCE: computer won't communicate with printer

Make sure that the printer driver you are using is compatible with your version of windows. If so, open all printers in "control panel" and make sure that this printer is the preferred printer and not an old one you might still have installed.

My printer xerox 6515 showing the errors 062-380 and 386 do you know how to fix this errors

  1. estart the printer: Turn off the printer, wait a few seconds, and then turn it back on.
  2. Update the firmware: Check the Xerox website for any available firmware updates for your printer model. If an update is available, follow the instructions to download and install the update.
  3. Perform a firmware reset: Contact Xerox support to perform a firmware reset, if needed.
Error 386: This error message typically indicates a problem with the printer's communication interface. To resolve this error, try the following steps:
  1. Restart the printer: Turn off the printer, wait a few seconds, and then turn it back on.
  2. Check the cable connections: Make sure that the cable connecting the printer to the computer is securely connected at both ends.
  3. Try a different cable: If the cable connections are fine, try using a different cable to connect the printer to the computer.
  4. Check the computer settings: Make sure that the computer is set up to communicate with the printer correctly.
If the error persists after trying these steps, I would recommend contacting Xerox support

S405 printer won't communicate with computer when trying to print

First, make sure that the firmware of your printer is up to date. Just go to http://bit.ly/ghfW8H to download the firmware update.

If the firmware update doesn't help, try to uninstall the Lexmark driver and download an updated driver online at http://bit.ly/rtOKTx. Just choose the Operating System of your computer.

Also, if your printer is connected to your network, try to set a static IP to your printer to prevent it from getting a different IP.

Computer says there is no communication with the printer

Couple of things to consider and try,,,have you tried another USB device in the computer, like a flash drive? If it can read the flash drive ok then the problem is not the USB port. Try using a different USB cable for the printer. Make sure your computer is up to date with the most current drivers. To me it sounds like a bad printer cable. Another thing to try is having the printer attached and when the error message comes up try wiggling the cable to see if communication is restored. If so then chances are that the printer cable is bad. Hope this helps.

Scanner operation

You will need at least a USB connection for bidirectional support.
