LG M227WDP tuning problems

sounds like the memory IC to the TV has damaged. It is an IC, which stores all the cunsumer adjusted data, as digital signals, and retrives thme to the main system control IC, each time the set is switched ON.
It is an 8 solder terminal one, a small IC. Even though, its size is small, function of this part is very crtical, when the set works. This IC can be located very near to the main system control IC, and can be bought from most of the electronic spare part selling shops at your town.
The only thing you need is, to locate this component on main baord, and desolder it out, and resolder a new one in place. Somewhat skilled work indeed.

LG 42LK450 flat screen.I tried auto tuning but didn't pickup channel 31. I tried manual tuning with no result. The old style TV I had prior to this could pick up channel 31 so it isn't a reception...

If your trying to receive over the air make sure the TV is not set to a Cable mode, if your on Cable your new TV is most likely a ATSC tuner (digital) and the cable company can map channels any way they want. If your old TV had the older style cable tuner, the lineup will be different.
HDTV has level thresholds, if the signal is weak you wont see anything, but the old TV would.
Without knowing much about where or what sort of TV your using, these are my best ideas.

Hi, I live in a flat in London with a shared rooftop aerial (no idea of spec). I have a Sony KDL-46X2000. The built-in freeview tuner doesn't seem to recieve any HD channels. Is the built-in tuner the...

Make sure you have a good connection from antenna to TV. Check antenna and cable and cable connection to TV. Select DIGITAL button on TV remote when wanting HD channels. Remember HD channels are always digital. Also, any given TV station may not be broadcasting in HD at a given time. They can broadcast in digital but in standard definition sometimes. Your TV has a built-in DVB-T tuner. Try executing a channel scan to pick up all available channels. On-screen menus go to Digital Setup, then Digital Tuning, you can auto-tune or manual tune channels. The TV should take a few min. to scan thru available channels and store the channels its finds. Check with anyone in your area to see if they get HD channels (it is possible to be outside of the range of some TV stations) Your TV is a 2006 model and should still be compatible with local digital TV broadcasts but keep in mind digital signals could change in the near future (DVB-T2) and you may need a tuner/converter box to make the TV compatible.

Channel scan only finds 1 channel with basic cable setup on LG 42LD520

if you have a cable box just plug the cable box into a scart socket on the tv, switch the tv to the scart input and use the cable remote to change channel?Scanning for channels wont find anything because you are receiving the channels on a cable box. If you are refering to standard or digital tv signals and your not receiving any channels then either you are only scanning analogue tv and therefore wont pick up any digital tv channels, or your ariel is inadequate to receive an acceptable digital reception and will need to be upgraded. please state country you are in and what you are expecting to receive

Hi - I have a LG 42LP1D, I have tuned the digital stations, but it only starts from Channel 10. So I am missing 1 - 9

Are there Digital stations at 2-9? I'd try a rescan to find all channels it sees. If you are getting TV from over the air antennea, then it might be since the switch over the channels you might have been receiving before are not strong enough now that they are digital. Some locations are experiencing this.

LG LCD TV 37LP1D digital freeview tuning problems

Hi - I have the same problem. Also in Cornwall LG were not interested in helping because the TV was 3 1/2 years old. There was a possible fix in the end offered via LG at a cost of £180 + vat - a hardware update that might or might not work but I was not going to pay that so I now watch my LG 42 plasma via a £25 digi box from the CO OP. LG must have sold 1000's of these Tv's so when the digital switch starts in the more populated areas of the country I exect many more web postings.

Problem with tuning digital channel

I would believe from what you said, you have solved your problem. You will need a UHF antenna to receive the signal. Walmart or Radio Shack has a great amplified antenna that will work for you.

Digital channels

is the antenna a UHF/ VHF type? most of the broadcasters are broadcasting in UHF for the digital, also an antenna pre amp will help tune in those distant stations. you must point the antenna in the area of the signal. if you are able to pick up 35% of the singal or better, you will have a picture.
