I don't understand, are you saying I have a virus? I have Norton, I use AD-adware, Spybot all the time. Please explain.

  • timmtam Dec 06, 2007

I do update & run my Norton & ad-adware & spobot regularly. I did update my driver on my mouse & grafics driver after this problem started. None of that helped.Thank you for trying.

  • timmtam Dec 06, 2007

There is no Human interface device, but I could get to the mouse & checked. There are no warning icons, it says mouse is working properly, no problems. Thanks for trying.

  • timmtam Dec 07, 2007

No, my problem didn't get solved. I did everything you said except I didn't Registry Mechanic. Do you really think it would of helped? I just didn't want to put out the money for it in hopes it would have solved my problem. Thanks for all your help. I never did reinstall Tiger Woods 2007, yet some of my other games, mouse still flickers.

  • timmtam Dec 07, 2007

Nothing I have tryed has worked. My mouse just flickers, disappears, & flickers some more on games only. Otherwise it is fine.

  • timmtam Dec 08, 2007

I have my mouse updated, & I have the latest version of Direct X. Thanks for trying.

  • timmtam Dec 09, 2007

Mouse flickers on games, then disappears, then flickers again. Only on games, otherwise fine. Doesn't matter if it is a CD or download.

  • timmtam Dec 10, 2007

Yes I am running in the right video mode. I have a ps2 port & mouse & is set right. Thank you

  • timmtam Dec 13, 2007

Nothing seems to fix it. Geek Squad ( without actually looking or checking anything says it is the video card ) Does that sound like the answer? Please give your opinion.

  • timmtam Dec 18, 2007

I Deleted folders & subfolders. I got Registry Mechanic & ran it .I had 8 hundred & some problems . Fixed them. Still does not solve my problem of mouse flickering on Tiger Woods games.

Try playing the game with your working
ps2 port wilth a ps2 mouse and see if
it works I have never had that problem
with a ps2 mouse and the proper video
    setting recommended for the game

  • Eugene Merritt Dec 13, 2007

Could be the video card, cards can
cause all kinds of problems streaks
    llittle dots, specks, jumbled letters
etc I guess it does the same thing
with a ps2 mouse or did you check
it.If it does the same thing with a ps2
mouse then I would suggest try
another card becaus it probably is
    the video card

If it is a USB mouse, make sure you download the newest chipset drivers for your system to update the USB drivers. This will often resolve the issue. Also, make sure you have the latest version of DirectX that your system can support.

Do you have another mouse (preferrably USB) you can try this out with? I'm curious to see if the problem remains with different hardware, or from a different port.

Also, check the PS2 pins on the end of the mouse, and the female PS2 port on the PC. Are any pins bent or missing on the mouse? Are there any obstructions in the PS2 port on the PC?

I don't know about it being a virus, but if it is,.. Have you updated your virus definitions and the rest of your Anti-virus, Anti-spyware progrms and actually run them lately?
Some people hardly ever update and/or run their programs.
You might also try updating your mouse drivers.
May I suggest, VersionTracker Pro $29.95
http://www.versiontracker.com/windows/
Keeping your software and drivers current helps keep your PC running smoothly, but locating and matching the right updates for your machine can be frustrating and time-consuming. With VersionTracker Pro, you don't need an IT department. VersionTracker Pro scans your hardware AND software to determine the right updates for your drivers and applications.

Go to your "Device Manager" (Right click on ‘My Computer', select 'Properties', click the 'Hardware' tab, click the 'Device Manager' button. Click the "Human interface devices"). If there is some kind of a "Warning" icon superimposed on the 'Mouse' icon there is your problem!
If no "Warning" icons then try...
    One at a time...
Double click on any of the devices that have 'Mouse' in the listings.
Click the "Properties" tab; look for any "Warning" icons
Uninstall the DRIVERS for THAT DEVICE only. See instructions below.
Click on the faulty device and hit the remove button, follow the instructions given by the program.
Shutdown, restart, the device will automatically reinstall by the "Found New Hardware" program.

Also uninstall "Mice and other pointing devices" except for TouchPad (on laptops)

"mouse is working properly" That ain't neccessacerliy so!

Didn't you report you were having problems with your mouse?

Try uninstalling all your mouse drivers, can't hurt, might help!

Even if there is no warning icons.

Uninstall "Mice and other pointing devices" (except for TouchPad (on laptops))

    Otherwise:

It sounds like a fault in the tiger woods game program.
Go to the "Add and Remove Programs" in your Control panel. Do a "Change" and do the 'repair program' utility.
That should fix it, good as new.
If that is not a possible option (there is no "Change" and 'repair program') then Run the normal uninstall program.

    CLEAN INSTALL needed here.

    After un-installing:
Shut down completely for at least 30 seconds, and then restart.
This releases "Locked files" for deletion.
Then do a search for 'all files and folders' - search for both the "Company Name" and then Tiger Woods, with the options "Search system folders", "Search hidden files and folders" and "Search subfolders" checked. Delete all of those files found.
You should do this search and delete whenever you un-install any programs. It will remove lots and lots of leftover junk files and corrupted files taking up room on your hard drive. It will also give you a "clean install" when you reinstall or install an updated program. (Do this ESPECIALLY when updating to a NEW anti-virus programs and “Internet Security Suite” programs such as McAfee or Norton etc.)
    BEFORE RE-INSTALLING

Download and install "Registry Mechanic" then do the updates prior to running it and removing anything for the first time. This will get rid of all your current Registry errors, prior to installing or reinstalling.

Darn tootin' it will help! You would be surprised how many garbage registry errors there are on your computer.

They mess up everything else by their presence.

    I would bet over 200!

Did you "Search system folders", "Search hidden files and folders" and "Search subfolders" checked. Delete all of those files found?

If so, you will find that "uninstalling a program" leaves lots of garbage behind... the same goes for Registry files.

If nothing else they take up hard drive space.

Search for OTHER program files that you have "uninstalled"

    Bet you find them!

The user files are corrupt. Your going to have to uninstall the game and start over. Make sure you delete any files left in the folder after you uninstall.

It seems to me that the memory for your graphics card is not enough to play the game .64MB is quite small for that sort of game. If you check the mininum requirements for your game .

Mouse flickers & disappears only on games

Since your mouse works fine other than in the game can I suggest you instal the latest driver combo from ATI. Just because the card has PowerColor's name, it's still an ATI chip.
So in this order, update windows. You'll need .Net framwork 2.0,
do not skip lower version & install .Net framwork one at a time restarting when requested. Install directX 9.0c from here:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/Browse.aspx?displaylang=en&categoryid=2
Uninstall any other versions currently installed on your system.
If for what ever reason the uninstall fails, download and run ATI's uninstaller "cat-uninstaller.exe" to clean your system from here:
http://searchna.ati.com/promosearch/?site=us-en&la=en&qt=cat-uninstaller&selectsite=ATI&sp_a=sp10039240&sp_p=all&sp-x-1=col&sp_f=ISO-8859-1&sp_q=cat-uninstaller&Search.x=9&Search.y=8
You’ll find lots of cool features within the Catalyst Control Center.
