I also took the back off of mine as it was making a loud screeching sound. I found three fans that were visable and they were fine. The noise seems to be coming from the inside end of the lamp. There is a black component there and I beleive there is a fan contained inside of this component. Am I correct in this assumption? If I am correct is this the fan you mentioned in your comments? If so where can I get this fan and is it easy to replace.

the Samsung HLN 5065W I have shows a warning "Check Fan No 2" . I notice the fan next to the lamp is not turning. How do you access the fan and change it? Do you open the back? And the back looks like it has multiple interlocking plastic parts - any tricks to open the back?

One is in front of DMD board, 1 in front of lamp and 1 on top of ballast. Which one isn't turning. Take back off and push up on blue switch; Hold it there... Turn on and don't touch anything else. One of the fan's isn't turning. Probably large fan by lamp. Cost $45, easy to fix yourself

The fan only works if plugged in to outlet on the wall, not on the fan itself.

Check at the switch location to see if the switch is working properly. This can be done by checking to see if the switch
has voltage and is working properly. Turn off the switch that operates the fan and then at the electric panel, turn off power to the bathroom. Remove the switch from the box, leaving the wires intact. Once the switch terminal are easily accessible and totally away from any ground source, turn on the power and with a voltage tester, check to see if you have power to it. Now carefully turn the switch on and check the other terminal to make sure there is voltage. If you have voltage on both terminals, then the problem may be at the fan location. There is a junction box in it that has the termination between the hardwire cable and the receptacle leads. this may have become loose due to vibrations. check at that location.

Over tv its getting aoutmatically off

Hello

Put your hand on the back of your TV to check for overheating, if your set keeps switching itself off without warning.

Many TV sets come equipped with a safety feature that switches the power off if the set gets too warm.

Check the cooling vents located at the rear of your unit. Vents can collect dust and dirt, resulting in the fans becoming blocked and failing to work properly.

Remove dirt from the vents with a damp, clean cloth. Ensure the air conditioning is kept at adequate levels in the room where your TV is located. Keep the drapes shut on hot, sunny days to keep the room cooler.

Check the sleep-timer function on your TV if it keeps turning off. A sleep-timer is used to turn a television set off after a certain period of time has elapsed. If the sleep-timer is not turned off, your television will continue to turn itself off after a certain period of time.

If the problem persists, then a heat sink has gone bad.

The on/off button simply toggles a low voltage circuit that powers your tv. If it is dusty, it may complete the electrical circuit and send a false signal.

Take a can of compressed air, open the back and clean the dust off the circuit boards.

NOTE;opening the TV VOIDS warranty!!

After watching TV for a few hours it will turn off by itself. Then the light will blink 3 times. If this is the lamp door switch where is that located?

THERE ARE 2 SWITCHES IN THE TV THAT WILL GENERATE 3 BLINK SHUTDOWN ONE FOR THE LAMP DOOR AND ONE FOR THE LAMP ITSELF. I HAVE SEEN GENERIC LAMPS IN THE PAST THAT DON'T FIT QUITE RIGHT AND CAUSE THIS PROBLEM. OTHERWISE MAKE SURE THAT THE LAMP DOOR IS SECURE COMPLETLY.

Tv switches off after 5 mins

There might be three or more reasons for this:
1) The sleep timer may be on causing the TV to turn off after a preset time.
2) If sleep timer is on and no signal from the remote is received for a preset time (Samsung: 15 minutes) the tv will turn itself off.
3) The TV may have been turned on automaticaly with "On Timer". If so, and no signal is received for a preset time (Samsung: 3 hours) the tv will turn itself off.
4) A fan is not working or a vent is blocked causing the TV to overheat and turn off.
For 1) thru 3), go to the "setup" menu and make sure "sleep timer" and "On Timer" are turned off.

I had the same problem with my new TH-50PX60B. I turned the tele on then after 5seconds it would switch off. The standby light would then blink on and off 11 times, pause for a second then flash 11 times. This would continue until the power wasturned off. Note the TV would not turn on for more than 5 seconds.
I solved this problem by turning the tele on and checking the fans at the back. My tele had 3 fans. If one of the fans is not turning, this will be the cause of the problem and the tele will shut down under the Emergency Shutdown System. To clear the fan try blowing on it to free up any dust etc. If that still doesn't work try using a thin instrument (tie wrap etc) to manually turn the fan and free it. Then power off the tele and turn it back on. The tv should work perfectly.
