- from the description you are hooking up 2 computers, im assuming one of these is wired and the other wireless, a few simple things that cause problems with linksys wireless routers is the wired computer will have access to external internet while the wireless is not properly authenticated with the access point. a few things to try would be completely disconnect the internet connection and go to your wireless network window and select your network, a few things that may help, theirs a settings that is [show limited or no connectivity] if you go to to the properties of the WiFi card and unchecked "Notify me when this connection has limited or no connectivity. this sometimes happens with sp2 updates as well as sp3 updates from windows.also note that alot of the time this is not a hardware issue at all, infact melware is often responsable for causing this problem. try this test out if you will, go to start then run type in the run box ping 74.125.127.100 >> c:\result.txt then press the enter key what this dose is makes a result.txt file on the c:\ drive so as soon as you open the c drive you will see result.txt go ahead and open it and see if the file contains Reply from 74.125.127.100 or it says Time Out this will tell you if your truly on the internet and the tcp stack is messed with by melware,. if you are online go

http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam-download.php

and get this software to scan your pc, it sounds like melware caused your issues resolving hosts with the browser, good luck.

Use the information in this Linksys article to correctly install your hardware. If you have already installed it, go here. and check the installation. (Additionally, here is the home support page for your adapter, with access to other info..)
If that doesn't do it, here's a wireless troubleshooting guide that may help, here's the basic network troubleshooter, and here's a great site full of valuable info and links that might help you to sort it out. See this article in particular.
Unfortunately, yours is a pretty generic problem, and all I can do is point you in the right direction... If you're running vista instead, see here.

I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue. If you need further assistance, please post back with a comment to this thread.
If I've managed to answer your question or solve a problem, please take just a moment to rate this post....thanks!
