Sony KP-46S25 The large mirror (part #407027901?) broke inside the set.  Can it be replaced by just having a glass shop make a mirror the same shape?

I have a Mitsubishi Model WD-6035 rear projection tv. I broke the "mirror" inside trying to get out 2 stink bugs. Where can I get a replacement?

Hello, I'm sorry but the original mirror is no longer available from Mitsubishi. you may make a cardboard template, and it will have to be exact, and take it to a glass shop and have a mirror cut, it won't be as thin or optical grade, but it will work but the may be some slight distortions in some areas.....tks

Tip

An idea of making a rectangular glass tube with just 1 to 2mm thickness is not...

A weakness that you might experience with your projector is the collapsing of the light or mirror tunnel. Not sure if this is common to DLP projectors only. The symptom is that you see grey bands or shadows on the edge of the TV image - this is caused by a mirror getting in the way of the bulb light. The glue holding the mirrors together seems to weaken over time (3000 lamp hours in my case) and causes one or more of the mirrors to loose its position. For solution, search for "mirror tunnel" or "light tunnel" under all projectors. The problem seems to be quite widespread. I managed to fix my LG's.

I wonder why the manufacturers don't use a rectangular glass tube that is mirror plated on the long sides ?!?! Suppose they want to sell new projectors after lamp or mirror tunnel expiry!

The mirror in my vs50703 tv broke is there a place to buy a replacement or should i junk it

Your best bet is to call a local glass and mirror shop and have them cut you a new mirror for your tv. You will need to provide them the dimensions. It probably won't cost that much. If you were happy with the picture before the mirror broke, than putting around $50 or less into it seems like it would be worth it.

While moving, the mirror slipped out and broke. No part available. I'm thinking I can have one custom-made. I need to know its exact dimensions, please. Thanks, if you can help.

orcajest,

The mirror is available at http://www.encompass.com for $48.00 and shipping. They also have the clips to hold it in. The part number is 767D055050. This should get you back to watching TV.

Thanks for using FixYa and for the generous rating.

Need to replace driver side mirror of an 2008 ford fusion, but wanted to know if i could just replace the glass instead of the whole mirror? the glass is the only thing that is actually broke.

You can buy stick on replacement mirror glass for most models in good motor accessory shops. These just stick on to the existing glass if there is enough left to stick it to.
If not the dealer will supply the glass seperately but its a little tricky to fit and might be well worth letting them fit it too as it is very easy to break while fitting.

Glass or something behid the screen broke

Misha, I have bad news for you.

There is only one part behind that screen to break - a rather large mirror.

To verify:

Lay the TV down, face down, on a towel.
Remove the screw from the upper rar black plastic housing.
Lift straight off - you should see the mirror, or what is left of it, attached to the black plastic.

Sorry for your loss.

If you are interested in selling the ballast, let me know.
