Panasonic DVD-RV26 problem H02

So I was working on a few video's here at home when I had a neighbor come over and ask if I could take a look are their DVD player.

Turns out the player was giving off a code H02, so I jumped on here to look for a solution for the model DVD-RV26 but unfortunatel there where no solutions to my problem.

I went back to work on the DVD player and after trouble shooting, while the top is off, I inserted a DVD and waited for the tray to load. As soon as the tray catches the DVD with my finger I gave the wheel a gentle spin. The player then loadd the DVD and started playing.

This is a temporary fix until the DVD player finally just quits all together, I say that it might last for another 1 or two tops.

Problem playing dvd with panasonic sa-pt660 keep getting an H02 error message?

Thousands of annoyed customers of Panasonic, Yamaha, and Denon DVD Player owners have encountered the infamous H02 / H07 /H03 erors and many others on thier players or maybe the "No disk" error even though a disk is in the drive. Well many people have spent hundreds on repair or bought a new unit. But i am here to tell you that it is okay to open up your dvd player and mess around in side. If your DVD player comes up with one of these errors the first thing you might want to try is to open up your DVD player by removing the screws on the side and the back (depending on the model), then plug the dvd player into power outlet with cover removed. Stick a disk in and press play and give the disk a little push. Most of the time the Spindle motor is dieing out when you get a H02 error. In this case that little push may get your spindle motor to rev back up back into action. And if your as succesful as me then hopefully you have just fixed your H02 error for free without doing much work. I just got a Panasonic HT95 Reciever/DVD player to play all disks again by giving the motor a little "kick start"

I have a panasonic RV26 DVD player. After inserting DVD it goes to the reading mode (normal) but it stays on the reading mode for awhile then code H02 shows and then stops and and will not accept any other...

The Optical head or the mother board is defective. The data is not received and so the Mp is not able to read or process.
hence if have cleaned the optical head lens, and there is no reading try to put in a audio cd to test. If the cd is read the head must be Ok and the DVD processing must be faulty possible board issue but if there is no reading then the optica head is faulty

H02 -------stop

moz-screenshot.pngmoz-screenshot-1.pngThis is what i was able to gather for you.

H and than the numbers is the message:

Trouble is likely to have occured. the number following "H" differs depending on the status of the player.

Press {POWER} to switch the player to stand by mode and then back on. alternatively, press [POWER] to switch the player to the stand by mode, disconnect the AC power supply cord, and then reconnect it.

If the error message fails to be cleared even with this action being taken, you will need to ask a technician to repair the player.

Code H02

Your DVD player is having an issue with the spindle motor (the thing that spins the DVD around). The following solution works for most people, and you should only have to do this once.

  1. Unplug the DVD player.
  2. Take the cover off.
  3. Place a disc on the spindle.
  4. Put a little pressure on the disc (so it doesn't slip) and spin it around a few times.
  5. Remove the disc, reassemble, and plug back in.
  6. Try to play a DVD.
  7. Report back if this solved your problem, or if more troubleshooting is needed.

Will i be able to use my old panasonic dvd-rv26 for a tv

From the information I found, it does not have an ATSC tuner that you need to pick up the digital over the air TV signals. You will need one that does, check this page:

H02 Error after inserting a dvd disk

The trouble started with an error to close and open the DVD drawer. It indicated "close" when the drawer was open, or "no disc" when the DVD was inside, and I had to try many times before I get the right response and go on with the procedures.
But then it also started playing just a few MP3 tracks and stopping to work, showing again the inserted DVD data. Later H02, and then H07 and STOP. It doesn't even start playing stuffs, movies or MP3 tracks!

Panasonic DVD-RP56 Error H02

I read about removing the cover and spinning the motor by hand. It was suggested without power. I found that I had to have the unit powered up when I hand-spun the motor, then everything worked perfectly... we'll see for how long.
