Can not remove the air intake filter

Hi Our Simplicity SHCC6026 dehumidifer is around a year old and I can remove and replace the Hepa filter but I can not remove the air intake filter And I need to clean it. I have pulled and pulled and short of breaking the plastic it do not budge help
