Re: kinda dead

Techwolf, you nailed it, control board is bad, I have personally checked the tact switches and they checked good with Ohm meter but the meter lies, problem is module/board is kinda pricey and individual tact switches are not listed individually on parts list, you also have to be carefull that you get the correct one, there are 3 versions of your posted model #, AV48WP30, AV48WP30A, AV48WP30ME, be sure to check which one you have, should be able to order module here; I have tried cleaning tact switches with "blue shower" but fix doesn`t last, have to change module out, good luck, BMW Rider

Tv will not power up

Press the TV button or ON/OFF button while remote is in TV mode and there's a source of power to the outlet or outlet strip.

Make sure the TV is plugged in.

You might have tried to turn on the TV during the lamp cool-down. Wait a few moments and the picture will appear.

Has the power light on the front of the TV been blinking for one minute? If so, the lamp may be dead. Refer to the Power indicator
is blinking or flashing section below for more information.

When you first plug your TV into an outlet, the Power indicator on the front panel will light and blink for approximately 30 seconds
and then go off during the initialization of the TV. This happens only when the TV is unplugged and plugged back in. The TV can
only be turned on after the Power indicator goes off.

Check the wall receptacle (or extension cord) to make sure it is "live" by plugging in something else, such as a lamp.

Something might be wrong with your remote control. Press the POWER button on the front of the TV. If the TV turns on, check the
remote control solutions on page 53.

Multiple TV Setup might be set to the wrong option. Press MENU/OK on the front panel. Select Setup Options, then Advanced
Options, then Multiple TV Setup. Choose TV (default).

Do any of the green led lights in the set come on?---red one should be on all the time--blinking would indicate a problem in the power supply at the primary side (INPUT).

Just changed the bulb, TV is about 7 years old. Anyways, I get no power whatsoever after putting in the new bulb. I have tried to unplug and plug back in. The manuel has a main power switch for the 65...

I think if possible a little more information:

master power if it has it will be on back of set and some models have safety switch so if back is off set will not power up.

Do any of the indicator lights (think this model has two) come on or is it total dead set?

No power whatsoever suggests no lights on front of set, let me know as much as you can,

I am in California and will be online for a while.

TV Turns Off Automatically While Watching

Stop trying to turn on the set. You are causing more damage. The hissing sound you are hearing is either a High Voltage Transformer on the SMPS (Switched Mode Power Supply) indicating a short somewhere in the set or some capicitors that have shorted out. Also there can be a CRT that is leaking cooling fluid onto the Main bd or the Power/Deflection bd or both bds. Have a trained Samsung tech troubleshoot the set.

do this press and hold device and menu button on the front of set.. this is to retrieve a to digit error code flashed by the leds. also this set neds to "boot" let the led flash for at least 70 seconds. if it continues to blink the tv failed to boot. There is service bulliteens that states capacitors in power supply can be bad. this capacitors are kinda hard to get to and rather invovled to replace

ok is the set completlely dead. DOEs the Led on the front flash. if it does not flash this is an indication of a primary power interuption. POSSIbley main fuse. Now generally the main fuse does not blow unless there something else wrong. some other component shorted. Now if the light flashes then this is an indication that the main fuse is still good and that the processor is getting power and that it has detected a condition that requires it to shut down. ussaly a high voltage issue

Tv won't power on ws-65511

This forum is pretty dead. Anyways the technician came and disconnected the wires running to front control panel ( where the buttons are). And now the TV works with the remote. Apparently the front pannel had shorted.

Details: He moved the grill on top of the speakers. You will see two sets of wires running from the bottom of unit to the front control pannel. These wires are joined by clips. Just disjoin the wires at the clip.
