None of the PS, PS2 and DVD discs will play on my PS2 console. I insert a disc and it begins to spin. It starts spinning at a certain RPM (no noise)and then after 5-6 seconds, the RPM would speed up and a noise would start coming from the console. I took it apart and watched it. Everytime I would insert the disc, the same exact thing would happen. (5-6 secs and noise would start). It sounds like a rubbing sound. I watched it carefully and couldnt see any rubbing. The TV screen reads "No data" and on the bottom "Reading disc..." (blinking). I cleaned the laser already. The discs I used are fine. It was never dropped. Could the disc be slipping on the disc pad, when the RPMs sped up? I cleaned it with rubbing alcohol and Q-tip. Does something need to be adjusted? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

t's not asking for a specific disc, it's asking for a properly formatted PlayStation disc.
This message could mean that any one of several things has happened:
* You are trying to play a Japanese disc on a US PS2, or vice versa
* You are trying to play a game that has been copied onto a CD-R/DVD-R
* Your disc is scratched/dirty/otherwise unreadable
* Your disc isn't a format that the PS2 recognises (i.e. CD, DVD, PS CD-ROM, PS2 CD-ROM, PS2 DVD-ROM, etc)
* Your PS2 is broken
the sony ps2 plays plays all games either ps3 games and othe console games .to play dvd games after inserting the disk first yu have to press three or four times the power puton contnously and the game automatically starts ok bye.
Confirm the disc is inserted
correctly into the PlayStation 2 console (label side should be facing
up when the PlayStation 2 console is in the horizontal position).
the disc is clean. To clean a disc, use lint-free cleaning cloths made
specifically for cleaning CD/DVD discs, sold at computer software
stores. When cleaning the disc, we recommend starting from the
innermost circle, and wiping out to the edge in a straight line. We do
not recommend wiping in a circular motion, as it may create more
scratches on the disc. [Note: Other materials, such as a paper towel
or a T-shirt, may also scratch the disc. If there are any scratches,
smudges, or fingerprints on the disc, it may not function properly.]
Try playing different CDs, DVDs, and games on the PlayStation 2 console to see if the problem exists across multiple discs.
To determine if the problem is with the disc itself, try playing the disc on a different PlayStation 2 console (or a PS oneTM or a standalone CD/DVD player, if applicable).
that you are not using any game modification devices. Unlicensed

It should play Cd, Cdr, and DVD as well. If it will play PS2 and ps1, it should have not problem playing the other three. If your discs are dirty that was cause it not to read. If its more can you please expand on what is happening.
