Question about Mitsubishi WS-55813 55" Rear Projection HDTV

Mitsubishi Model 65713 - Timer Button Light Blinking-TV Won't Power On

Possible power surge.
Timer Button Light Now Blinking
TV Won't Turn On
- Have tried System Reset Button - And TV Still Won't Turn ON
- I have unhooked TV completely and tried reset several times

- Is there anything more I can do?
- My source of purchase says this TV must be returned to shop
(Transportation costs $100/Minimum Labor-$395/Plus Parts)
- Shouldn't a field visit in home be the first step by a reputable sales dealer.
Thanks - Bill Bowman -

Open the back with the unit unplugged and see if any of the fuses are blown. if not the home service and let the tech decide if it should go into the shop

Mitsubishi WS-65713 Blinking green light. TV will not turn on!

These Mits TV's tend to have power supply problems that are well documented on the web, when the symptom is as you describe. And this assumes no other unusual noises were heard before the TV went into shutdown.

The repairs are fairly straight forward if you are comfortable with electro-mechanical dis-assembly, soldering repair, and re-assembly.

Just do a search on Mitsubishi (your model number) and capacitors.

Blinking "Timer" light for WD-62725

If this is a DLP, you may have problems on the FMT/DM boards in the sealed electrical chassis.

That's a big problem, because Mits doesn't make the DM/FMT boards available anymore. They are only available for rebuild from Mitsubishi and other qualified places.

There is a chance that there are some vented capacitors on the DM and FMT boards you might be able to replace, but it's for someone really comfortable with completely disassembling a set, soldering in 8 new caps and rebuilding the chassis.

Rebuilds will run you $400-$500 in rebuild costs and an additional $200-$400 in labor, depending on the joint.

Blinking timer light will not turn off.

Pull out the power cord from the outlet for about one minute and then replug it. The blinking will restart for about a minute or less and then the set will turn itself off. You will then be able to turn it back on in the usual way with the remote or power switch.

I believe this is caused by a power surge or a momentary power outage.

Green blinking light

This model is equipped with a self-diagnosis feature to help with diagnosis of shutdown problems. To activate this turn the unit on let it shutdown then press the device and menu buttons on the front panel simultaneously and hold them in for 5 seconds after 5 seconds the power LED on the front panel will blink a two digit sequence. This will be one set of blinks a short pause then another set of blinks, this will repeat 5 times. 1 - 2 = no error detected 2 - 1 = X-ray protect (high voltage or beam current) 2 - 2 = Short protect (short protect monitors low voltage supplies) 2 - 3 = Deflection protect (this could be loss of vertical or horizontal deflection) 2 - 4 = Vertical protect (usually loss of vertical from the source)
