Hi,

With the allignment of the problematic keys, it seems like its something to do with the chip. By any chance, did you spill water on the keyboard? Please approach the customer service center.

Regards,
HP

Four keys in Belkin wireless keyboard are not working

If only specific keys are not working, something is obstructing those keys\' pickups which are located immediately beneath the keys. This is almost always caused by food debris or liquid spillage as dust doesn\'t provide particles big enough to cause issues.

If those four keys feel "funny" when being pressed, it\'s almost certainly a physical obstruction. If they feel "sticky" it\'s always a liquid spill. If you don\'t recall spilling anything over the keyboard, use a can of compressed air (found at office supply stores).

Turn the keyboard long side up, with the keys leaning slightly downward. Place the air nozzle close to the intersections of the keyboard, starting at one side and work your way to the other side, using short bursts of air. Repeat for every row of keys. Pay special attention to the four that do not currently work.

You\'ll probably see lots of junk fall out of the keyboard. That\'s good, if so--I would then retest the keyboard (no need to reboot the computer). That should fix it--if not, you may have to resort to pulling off the keys that don\'t work. The next possibility would be broken key hinges, but that\'s beyond the scope of this reply.

For liquids, cleaning is hit or miss. If left long enough, liquids will eat away at the circuits, or provide a short circuit and kill the component. Since only four keys are affected, I\'m really leaning towards food debris, but if you did spill a liquid, you can disassemble the keyboard and clean up any residue under and around the keys. Probably best to use rubbing alcohol and a q-tip for that--but if you\'re not comfortable taking stuff like this apart, it might be time for a new keyboard, or find a handy friend. Good luck!
