I wouldn't recommended running the bike on a dead battery, it is very hard on the stator and pulse coil. Chances are if you run with a dead battery for prolong periods of time they will fail.
Hope this helps with your decision.

Just bought a brand new 208 honda crf 250x in the fall. only rode it twice before putting it away.. put it in a heated hsowrrom all winter. it always had starting prooblems though.. i ust recently changed...

I am assuming the carb is in good order. Be sure the battery has a good charge and that the spark plug is giving a strong spark. So you have good fuel delivery and good spark, and the air cleaner should be pretty clean. The problem is usually flooding of the engine by twisting the throttle too much, too often. Each twist sends a shot of gas into the chamber. It is pretty easy to flood the engine.

Put in new battery week later will not start the bike crf 150 how to troube shoot charging system bike is approx 13 months old

Need digital voltmeter for a start...if you havent got one it will need to go to Tech to check charging system.

If you do have one it must charge at least 13.2volts to charge battery. May have "leakage" from somewhere as well.

| have a Trike with a gs850 g suzuki engine. It needs rewiring so where do i start. Its not so much the charging system but the wiring to the accessories has been mucked around with. What wire do i use can...

The simple answer is yes it can be done - and it need not be a nightmare. You need to teach yourself a little more about how the GS engine runs - stator- r/r - ignightor - timing - coils - plugs. It may well be that a loom from the same engine would be helpfull, but it will require some mods to avoid some of the GS wiring pitfalls, which is why we GS owners modify them to give maximum power to the coils for full spark. Try the GSRESOURCE site for more tips - join and post questions as they pop up - see u there ::)

Rear breaks on my honda crf 250x don't work

when your bleeding the brakes run a tube from the bleeder into a bottle of brake fluid and keep bleeding sometimes it takes a long time. you can also rent a vacum bleeder from your local auto parts dealer and it will be real easy.

How much oil for a 2006 honda crf 250x?

The crankcase oil fill is the dipstick hole on the left side of the engine. It holds .73 quart. The right side fill plug is for the transmission oil. It holds .63 quart. You will need to drain the transmission oil and refill it with the correct amount of oil. The drain is located on the left lower crankcase. It is bolt/washer in the parts diagram of the link below. I recommend you purchase an owners manual or service manual for this bike as this is a high performance model that requires frequent maintenance.

Crf 250 not running correctly

Dear Wivs 1 hi I am vortash I am thinking this just might be your battery or your magneto , the bike is firing but has not got enough power to sustain it . Most bikes run off the mag once they have started so it should also run off the battery for a while , if the mag was down provided the battery was charged .So sounds like the magneto hasn't charged it , most modern mags have a detachable rectifier or is attached to a rectifier somewhere on the bike . Check the output if you have a multimeter ,if you have a 6volt system it should be producing approx 8-9volts DC , a 12 volt system should produce between 13.5 14.5 dc voltage . I am sure this bike was produced with both depending what market ie USA . Europe , etc
hopefully this will show you if you have a problem there .. However another symptom similar to what you have described is due to a cracked Cylinder sleeve , as it attains an explosives compresion the power is lost from the cylinder hence the bike stops .. you can test this simply by holding a sharp pin on the cylinder face roughly half way down and tracing around the cylinder if the pin finds a crack it will stop abruptly ... indicating it's posistion .
I have disscounted the obvious ie: fuel as you say that you have thouroghuly checked out the fuel system and providing this bike has not been modified in some way I think you have covered most of the area I would . hope this is of help Regards Vortash

Battery not charging 2003 triumph rs any ideas wear to start to solve problem have replaced battery

check for charging system voltage to battery by testing for 13-15volts dc across battery posts w/ multimeter while bike is running.if less, check for ac voltage to regulator/rectifier w/ multimeter while bike is running.if there is voltge to module, it is most likely defective.if there is no voltage to module, follow wire loom from voltage reg. to electrical connector plug.unplug it, start bike, test for ac voltage at other side of connector on the electrical pins on the loom coming from the engine. if no power there, the charging coil, or the wiring from the coil is defect.
